Lily's POV
[flashback]
Six years ago, my life crumbled like ashes in the wind.
My adopted parents—my only real source of love—died suddenly. I was just sixteen, and with them, they left behind everything they owned, including the grand Lion Empire.
I should have grieved like any daughter would… but I didn’t.
Not long after, I uncovered a truth more painful than death:
I wasn’t their daughter by blood.
I belonged to the Lavenson family. I had a twin sister. Her name was Lilian—perfect, polished, and loved.
And me?
I was the child they gave away.
I hated them. Not just my biological parents, but Lilian too—for having the life I was denied. For growing up in silk sheets while I cried myself to sleep in loneliness.
Night after night, I burned with rage… and one day, that rage found a purpose.
I enrolled in MacValley High—the same school as her. I wore a mask of charm, but behind it was the plan.
Revenge.
I did everything I could to hurt her best friend, Karl, but to no avail. My hatred for Lilian only grew stronger.
The school’s golden boy, Jaden, asked to be his girlfriend. She was glowing. She was happy.
So I took that from her.
They thought he died in an accident. But no—I found his body. I gave him a new identity. I used him.
Still… it wasn’t enough.
So, I moved deeper into the shadows. I dated the cutest guy in school, her new boyfriend, and I blackmailed him and had him turn against her.
But even with that—I wasn’t satisfied.
She had a family. A life. A future.
I wanted it all to burn.
So I set her house on fire. I watched the flames rise into the night sky, smiling at the thought that they were all gone.
That they were ashes like mine.
But apparently… not all of them died.
She survived.
And now, she’s back.
And she’s wrapped Jaden in her web.
But she doesn’t know me.
She doesn’t know what I’m capable of.
She won’t last—
Not this time.
Not for long.
