Travelling west for about 50 km, he spiraled down twenty percent grades and maneuvered around single lane hairpin turns with no guardrails. The going was rough. The usual potholes kept his attention focused on the road, but it was the frost heaves that made his progress slow. As the day warmed up, the road turned to mud. Sean switched his truck wheels to 4-wheel drive to help compensate for the slippery surface.
