Since Kaela and I weren"t in need of immediate medical care, the paramedics didn"t have much to do. But I felt grateful for their company. The next two hours were filled with questions about my experiences at the cabin. I found myself using humor to laugh off some detail that had once traumatized me, and realized it was the only way I could talk about it. Still, they were a nice diversion from the mixed emotions I felt. After months of monotonous sameness, the changes were happening so fast, I wasn"t ready to deal with them.
