We went inside the room. The Shadow Trio was standing across the room from us.
"Hi," I said cheerfully. "Surprise!"
The Shadow Trio looked at me with surprise. "You're supposed to be the one who wants to get rid of us," the leader said. "Why are you letting us live?"
I smiled. "Because it's not over yet," I replied. "Not by a long shot."
"No, it isn't," the leader agreed. "It's never over until we win."
"I agree," I said. "That's why you're going to let us walk away with the Eye."
The leader frowned.
"This is stupid," he muttered. "You're wasting your time trying to trick us."
"No," I replied. "I'm not. You're going to let us walk out of here tonight with the Eye. If you don't, I'll tell everyone what you've done."
The leader glanced around nervously. All of the other members were
