*** *** *** When I woke up again I felt a sense of relief. It was Saturday morning already, I could start school early and maybe, even, catch Michael in the morning before class. I got dressed quickly and made my way downstairs. The house was eerily quiet and still, and I could tell that my father wasn't there. A sudden sense of dread filled me at the thought of my father suddenly realizing that I had gone out alone and thinking the worst. However, I knew that I'd had no choice but to escape from him eventually. He wouldn't understand. That is unless I told him the truth first. I entered the kitchen, prepared a bowl of cereal, grabbed my bag and headed out the door.
