"I'm leaving tomorrow morning," I say. "So I should probably go back to my apartment now."
"Yeah," he says. "We both should. It would be bad if we stayed here any longer."
I nod, and he walks me to the front door. His wife is sitting on the couch, reading a magazine.
"Goodnight," he says.
"Night," I reply.
Then he opens the door, and I step outside. I wave goodbye at his parents, and I start walking towards my car. I unlock the door and get inside, and then I pull out of the driveway. As soon as I leave their house, I call Alpha Gabriel.
"Hey," he says. "Is everything okay?"
I sigh in relief.
"Yes," I say. "Everything's fine. Thank you for inviting me into your home."
