{Nolan’s POV} I was sitting in my office when I heard tires squealing outside. I peered out the window seeing Marcy’s car peeling out of the driveway, with her five body guards chasing behind it. “Idiots..” I sighed, standing from my chair. I slowly made my way out of the office, down the hall, downstairs, and out of the front door. I turned my attention towards her bodyguards who were beginning to load up a car. “Come on, we have to follow that car!” One snapped. I sighed, allowing a heaviness to settle over them. “You all can’t even keep an eye on my sister? It’s so simple, stay with her, protect her.. this is your job, and yet, here you are, and there she goes.” I grumbled, walking over to the drivers side. I pulled one of the bodyguards out, and hopped into the drivers seat. “They’re going to the mall that I rented out for them geniuses, so we’ll just meet them there, and I will have a few words with my sister!” I was seething at this point, she knew how dangerous that area of town can be.. especially after Angelica. Angelica.. it was my fault that she died.. I didn’t see the poison in my own family.. rather, I didn’t want to see it. Not that my father would’ve allowed me to get proper justice for her. I shook my head, trying to chase the thoughts from my mind. I drove straight to the mall, and as we pulled up I could see my sister’s car. Her driver.. he’d been shot, I could hear gunfire inside the mall and took off, my sister’s bodyguards behind me as we ran towards the entrance. {Amara’s POV} Marcy and I were actually having a decent time, until we made our way into the bridal shop. As soon as we walked in, I could see men dressed in suits, holding weapons aimed towards us. “See, I knew that the princessa’s were gonna be here!” One of them shouted. “Come with us nice and quiet, and we promise we won’t hurt you, too much!” Another chuckled. Four inside.. probably more back out in the lobby.. there’s no way they’d allow us an escape route. I pushed Marcy behind me, and took in a deep breath. “Don’t move Marcy..” I muttered, before ripping my dress up the side where my pi**** was, before drawing it. I quickly took aim and took out the closest two. The others were quick to react, taking aim and opening fire on us. I pushed Marcy back out of the store, a bullet gliding past me and hitting my left arm. It grazed my skin, leaving a burning sensation. I turned quickly to the side and took out the other two, before quickly reloading my pi****. Marcy rushed to me, “You’re bleeding!” She cried out. I shook my head, holding my finger up to my lips. “Shh, I’ll be okay.” I whispered. I pulled off my leather jacket, then ripped the off the shoulder sleeves off the dress leaving me with spaghetti straps. I peeked out down the hallway, and saw four more men running our way. I looked to our side, seeing a vending machine. “Hide there, I’ll be back to get you.” I demanded, pointing to the vending machine. “You’re hurt.. you should..” she began but I pushed her towards the vending machine. “Hide there, and stay silent!” I warned, turning back towards the men coming our way. I rushed out into their view, and one took aim, immediately firing on me. I dropped to the floor, rolling forward before jumping up and kicking him in the side. He dropped his weapon, and I used this moment to grab him, holding him in front of me like a human shield. I opened fire on the other three, I took them out easily enough, the man in front of me took all of their return fire, and soon I dropped his limp body to the ground. I rushed back over to Marcy, grabbing her hand and pulling her up. “Come on, we have to hurry and get out of here before more show up!” I told her, rushing back towards the entrance. Marcy stopped near the front door to catch her breath, we were nearly home free, but when I looked at her, I could see a red dot centered on her chest. “Marcy, look out!” I screamed, rushing to her, and pushing her out of the way. I heard doors opening somewhere, as a bullet was fired. I felt the pain before I knew what was happening, my left ear burned, and I felt warmth spread across the left side of my face as I fell to the floor. “Amara!” I heard a man’s voice shouting, but I couldn’t tell from where, I couldn’t hear out of my left ear.. sound was muffled. I looked up seeing Marcy, the dot flicking to her head. I grabbed her, pulling her down out of the way, as another bullet zipped by her head, missing her. “Go, find the shooter!” The man’s voice demanded. I closed my eyes, trying to remember if I’d heard his voice before, if I knew this man. My mind was a muddled mess, my hearing fading, and warmth spreading under my head that now laid on the floor of the mall. I was here to get my wedding dress, instead, this may be the way that I die. In such a similar way to my sister, something I swore I wouldn’t let happen. I felt my consciousness slipping, and tried to keep myself awake and focused. “Marcy..” I muttered. “Marcy, are you safe?” I asked, unable to open my eyes. “Yes Amara.” Her voice came, it was soft, and broken. “I’m okay.. I’m okay, thanks to you.” She whimpered. “Good.. that’s.. that’s good..” I muttered, before completely losing my consciousness on the cold mall floor.
