The days started to flow by at a rapid pace. While Abby still had trouble breastfeeding, Maggie was able to get her main source of food from her mother. Maggie was starting to thrive and everyone on the ranch doted on her.
Abby also noticed a change in Devlin as well. While the boy continued to do his chores. After that first day Devlin had a single chore and that was mucking out the horses stalls in the morning. She didn’t agree with this strenuous chore, but Jonathan would not be persuaded from it. Jonathan said that Devlin could have help the first week, but after that Devlin had to rely on himself to much out the stalls on his own. Jonathan told both Abby and Devlin this chore could take one hour or five, but he would not be done until the job was finished.
