She roused as she felt a pain in stomach. It continued so Abby opened her eyes to see the Doctor roughly pushing on her stomach. Abby lay there as she felt the doctor continued to prod at her. She wanted to sleep, but no one would leave her alone. The pushing on her stomach made her cry out in pain, and it mirrored the cries of her newborn. That managed to distract her from the pain she was feeling.
“How is the baby?” Abby asked with a voice so quite it could barely be heard over the small cries. However, Jonathan who had been very worried about his wife hadn’t left her side since the doctor left.
“Her breathing is much better, she had us worried for awhile. Just like you did.” Jonathan took a long breath. “Like you still do.” Abby tried to open her eyes, but they are still so heavy.
