- Clair's POV -
I was having a nightmare, again. I've had them every night since it all started. The abuse. It was all just flashbacks of my dad, holding me in positions I didn't like. I couldn't do much, I wasn't that old at the first time it happened, and I didn't know what it was. All I knew at the time, was that it hurt.
"Clair!" I was slowly stirring in my peaceful slumber, sort of peaceful.
"Wake up! You're having a nightmare!"
The voice sounded familiar, and I realized it was my foster mom at the orphanage.
I woke up, scared to death. "What's happening?!"I screamed.
"You were having one of your pointless nightmares again! I'm sick and tired of you screaming all the time! So shut up!" My foster mom walked out of my room and slammed the door.
I glanced at the clock and it was nine a.m. I better get ready, it's visiting day today.
I completely forgot to introduce myself. I'm Claire Smith. My last name used to be Johnson, but I didn't want be left with any reminding of my biological family, so I changed it to something as cliché as "Smith". I'm 17, I have long brown naturally curly hair, brown eyes and I'm 5'2. Well back to reality.
I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, put on some skinny ripped jeans, a plain tank top in black and some black wedges. I thereafter put on some foundation, mascara, eyeliner and lip balm. My look wasn't too 'over-the-top', but still enough for me to feel like I looked fine and presentable.
I walked down the stairs and was met by some evil eyes staring at me. I heard people whisper with their roommates: "why is she always dressed like that?" "I love her style, but I hate her!". Nothing like a good ol' diss to make your morning great. I don't have a roommate, most people in here hates me and those who don't, well let's just say they stay clear of me in fear of becoming associated with me, which would most likely result in becoming a walking target like yours truly.
I hated the way people talked about me, and the treatment that keeps being thrown my way. I couldn't take it anymore, I was on the verge of tears, so I just ran upstairs and cried into my pillow before anyone could see.
I heard a voice calling my name, actually yelling my name.
"Clair, get down here, young lady! We are getting some important visitors today!" I knew it was my foster mom, who else?
I wiped my tears away, fixed my make up and went back down. I knew I wasn't getting adopted. I've been adopted 7 times but they always end up returning me, because they get tired of my screaming at night, and just get tired of me in general.
I reached the living room, sat down, plugged in my earphones and started listening to music. Suddenly I heard some of the girls screaming something along the lines of: "Oh my actual god, it's the Janoskians!", "It's Simon Cowell!", "I love you Luke!" ,"Marry me Jai!". Some of the girls caught me staring and they immediately pushed me away and told me how worthless I was, and my chances of being adopted are zero to none.
I snuck away as fast as I could up to my room and plugged in my earphones again.
- Simon's POV -
My cat just passed away. The moment I thought about that, I was thinking to myself - I need to get another pet - but then I realized, I needed to get something more than just a pet. Maybe a child? I immediately called all the boys: One direction, the Vamps, 5 seconds of summer and last the Janoskians. They are the newest group I had taken to me, so I could maketheir music career come true.
They thought the idea was crazy, but I brought them along with me because they needed to learn, that there are other people out there with no money and no families. I told them that I wanted them to help me choose, it was definitely going be a girl and she has to be the age from 15-17.
As soon as we arrived to the orphanage, girls started screaming. I noticed a girl standing in the back being yelled at by other two girls and then sneaking upstairs.
- Jai Brooks POV -
Girls were screaming, that's all I could hear. What have I gotten myself into? I looked at the other boys and they were clearly thinking the same.
The boys and I noticed Simon staring at 3 girls in the back, and one of them sneaks up stairs. She was quite beautiful.
Simon dragged us all upstairs in pursuit of a candidate, we were definitely looking for the girl.
- Clair's POV -
I started singing stay by Rihanna.
Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you
It takes me all the way
I want you to stay
Oooooh oooh
The reason I hold on
I want you to stay.
I heard clapping behind me, and I realized I sang out loud. I saw five quite nice looking guys standing there, and I also saw a familiar face, Simon Cowell him bloody self. I've seen him on that show, X factor, as one of the judges.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for you to listen to my hideous voice!" I said in a frenzy of embarassment.
"What are you talking about? You were amazing, don't be embarassed!". Simon exclaimed.
"How can a girl have such a beautiful voice?!" One of the guys asked. I'm not sure how to respond to that question. He must have worded that wrong.
"It's nothing really!" I assured them.
- Simon's POV -
As the boys and I were making our way up the stairs, we heard this beautiful voice. It was that girl! I knew she was special the minute I saw her. We just stood there, listening to her singing and we clapped when she was finished. I could tell by her face expression that she was embarrassed. She kept saying that it was nothing but, it was not nothing.
The foster mom came running into the room, and apologized to all of us for the girls antics.
"Are you singing again young lady, you talentless stupid girl! I'm so sorry for her behavior I don't know what has gotten into her! Apologize to the gentlemen right now!" She yelled at the poor girl.
"No need for that, it sounded beautiful" I assured the rude foster mom. The boys were really shocked by the the foster moms yelling and screaming at the girl. I just wanted to give that poor girl a hug.
"Can we have a chat with the young lady alone?" I more requested that asked the foster mom annoyed.
"Don't you wanna meet the other lovely girls? I mean you wouldn't want to adopt something like that." She said with an attitude, throwing at obvious shrug in the direction of the girl. Some of the girls nodded and agreed with the foster mom.
"No we want talk to her, so please leave" I ordered.
She left the room with some of the other girls, and the boys and I were alone with the girl.
"What's your name, love?" I asked calmly, yet curious.
"Clair, Clair smith". She answered.
- Clair's POV -
"Clair, Clair smith". I answered, trying to get rid of the shakiness in my voice.
"So, what do you like to do?." One of the guys asked.
"Uhm... I guess I like singing, and listening to music".
"That's great! How old are you?"
"I'm 17."
They all looked at each other and went to talk to my foster mom.
They all came back just moments later.
I looked at them. Before they could get a word out of their mouths, I quickly said "Look it's okay, I know you're not adopting me, I'm too complicated and stuff I know".
"Will you shut up! Simon already signed the papers!" My foster mom yelled.
"Stop yelling at her!" Simon yelled in return to my foster mom.
"Wait, what? I'm adopted?"
