Homecoming

At some point during the long drive, I must have fallen asleep awakening when we crossed the town limits passing the welcome to Harmony Bay sign, I could smell the sea in the air, a part of me felt some curiosity at what the town would look like now, I hadn’t been here for four years and a lot had changed. Main street looked rundown with a lot of shops boarded up including my beloved book shop, we turned away from main street and headed to Alpha Stone's house. It was a huge house shared by the senior pack members, once upon a time many years ago it had been a grand seaside hotel with impressive views across the bay. We were stopped at the end of the drive by a pack solider who checked the driver and looked into the back of the car before we were allowed to pass the gates, our escort had rode up to the house ahead of us.  Unlike Sophia’s arrival to my father's house, there was no welcoming party awaiting my arrival, I stepped out of the car and looked up at the huge gothic house, sighing I took my suitcase from the driver and made my way up the grand steps. I knocked twice loudly and waited, after a few minutes a young red-headed woman answered the door, “Can I help you,” she asked looking down at the suitcase at my feet. “I am here to see Alpha Stone is he available?” I smiled tersely, the redhead shook her head “I am afraid Alpha Stone is away on business and won’t be back until later today,”. “My name is Amelia Black he is expecting my arrival today,” I explained. “Ahh yes Luna, I am so sorry allow me to take your bag and I shall show you your room, my name is Anna,” the redhead smiled picking my bag up from the porch. As I crossed the threshold, I was amazed at how big the house was “wow, I am going to get so lost finding my way around here,”. Anna smiled “I felt the same when I came here but you get used to it, if you follow me, I will show you to your room,”. I followed Anna up a grand staircase trying to keep track of which direction I was travelling in. Apart from Anna, I saw nobody else in the corridor, she explained that this was Alpha Stones private wing and no other pack members had rooms in this part of the building. She led me along a plush corridor stopping at a big oak door, “this is your room Luna, is there anything else I could get you? would you like something to eat.”. “Actually, Anna could you tell me if there is a gym in the building?”. “Oh yes Luna we have a state-of-the-art gym it’s in the basement,” Smiling I sent Anna on her way, as I stepped into my room I was amazed at the grandness of the room, a large four-poster bed took centre place, it was more of a suite than a room.  The room smelled heavily of the elusive Damian, I recognised his scent from when we were younger, but it seemed changed slightly muskier and more desirable, I didn’t remember it being this intoxicating. I took my time looking the room over, finding a large ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet, where I was surprised to see a selection of clothing in my size. I put away the few clothes I had brought with me and changed into a gym outfit; I took one more long deep breath in inhaling Damien’s powerful scent before heading off to find the gym.  As I moved around the building, I came across other pack members who stared at me curiously when I passed but none spoke, without my pack mind link I felt lost and alienated. After a while, I found my way to the basement and I was pleased to see that it was unoccupied. I pulled on some gloves and started working the heavy bag I was lost in thought and then I caught a familiar scent in the air turning around I looked for the person that smell belonged to. Warren was standing leaning against the wall watching me. I ran across the room jumping into Warrens’ arms “well hello there stranger,” he called out spinning me around “let me look at you,” he put me down and stepped back “lord have mercy, girl you grown.” “Oh, my goodness Warren I am so happy to see you,” I cried out hugging him tightly. “Please tell me that you are living here too, apart from Anna not one single person has spoken to me and I already hate it here,”. Laughing Warren spun me around, “well it’s good to see you haven’t changed you still talk too much, come on let’s get some food I am starving,”. Putting a strong hand on my back Warren pushed me through the gym door, turning his head slightly towards the equipment storage room a small smile tugging at his mouth as he exited the room.
