Chapter two : One last time

After going to work, my mind was in chaos because of the morning incident. I am not concentrating on my work or my surroundings.
My friend, Helena, came to me and asked, "what's wrong?".
I am not ready to talk about it so I smiled, "nothing ". She gave a knowing look and left me to my choice.
Then we both carry on with our work. As I was working, my mind keeps thinking about morning incident. I feel hard to face them in the evening so I keep on thinking what to do about it.
I was planning to continue to work and not get married at all. I'm not concentrating on my work surroundings and my friend also realizes that.
After some time, I realizes that I forgot to bring my lunch. I then planned to order my food in lunch hours. I temporarily forgot what happened in the morning and chatted with my friends happily.
Helena asked, "have you brought lunch? "
I said, "No".
She asked, "Why? "
I said, "I forgot to bring".
"You never forget to bring then what happened today? "
"I really forgot to bring, Helena "
She gave me a weird look before saying,
"OK I believe you. Let's order for you in lunch hours "
Before lunch hour, someone came and told, "Your dad is waiting outside for you".
"My dad?? "
"Yes. He is waiting. Go soon"
I really can't believe that he came to my office after all the drama in the morning. I went outside and saw my dad standing there with my lunch box in hand and looking pitiful.
I went to him with my anger face and asked, " Why have you come here, dad? ", even though I know.
He said, "Mom asked me to bring you lunch" and gave me the lunch box.
I got the lunch box forcefully and said, " Go back" before looking at his face.
He had that sad look but it didn't bother me because he too encouraged my mom's deeds. I felt that he too was responsible for what happened today.
After that he left with that sad face.
I came back and sat down. Helena looked at me and the lunch box in my hand.
I just smiled at her. She sighed helplessly.
In lunch hour, we both sat down to have our lunch. We were laughing and chatting happily without anything to worry about.
Little did I know, I have something in store for me later.

After lunch, I forgot about everything and went to work. I was working endlessly without a thought and time went by.
At 5pm, my dad came again to pick me up. I was shocked to see him because I used to go alone home taking the bus.
My dad cheerfully came and said, " come let's go home. Someone is coming home at 6pm".
I glared at him and asked, "who? "
He said, " A guy saw your picture and said yes to marry you. He and his family are coming to see you. He earns good and he is working in abroad. Like you asked, he will take you there too. They are nice family. So come home now".
I was shocked to hear that. My eyes widened upon hearing each and every word. I didn't believe that they actually want to get rid of me so soon.
I said, " I'm not coming. I have some pending work to do and tomorrow is a holiday. So I have to finish it today".
My dad got tensed up, " Don't be stubborn and angry. This is a good match for you. We went to their home and asked them to come. Don't embarrass us".
I really couldn't believe what he said.
I don't want to create a scene in my office so I reluctantly went with him.
Before I left I said, "This is the last time after that you folks shouldn't force me to get married ".
He said, " Ok sure. This is the last time. I'm sure you will like him".
I thought to myself, "It's ok. Now I have another opportunity to say I'm not getting married. All this fuss is for One last time".
