Chapter 43

Hudson

I look over at a sleepy Zoe and say babe it's ok to go to sleep. She say Hudson what will everyone think with me sleeping all the time. I lean over and say they definitely won't think your sleepy because I gave you an O. She blinks up and her eyes surprise me she has a glossy look to them and say but they'll think I'm lazy. I look at her and say babe no one will think that. I will open the door but first put your pj shorts on. I take her shorts and glide them up as far as I can go. She says I'm going to miss you. Me too blue eyes me too. I unlock the door and cuddle up next to her kiss the top of her head I hate that life always throws hard stuff at her but she handles it with grace. I eventually fall asleep too after all the thinking I do. We are awoken by a heinous sound I blink my eyes open and see Janet my sisters friend standing there screeching. I throw a pillow and say get out. She leaves but leaves the door open. I hear her go to my sisters room and say June their sleeping together June says yeah taking a nap is something we do on high stress days and they had one. June is aware of Zoe's therapy but I don't want Janet to know and she knows that so she leaves it there. Janet has had a thing for me forever I don't like her she's annoying rude and mean to Zoe. I snuggle Zoe a little closer and say time to get up. She says ok opens her eyes and I laugh her hair looks like a blond afro she's got the most interesting hair it feels silky and it's curly but it's behavior is different like she has to bye shampoo from the ethnic isle. She can use regular shampoo but her hair goes all wild and untameble. Her skin is pale with pink undertones she can tan but still has to wear 50spf out in the sun She has Syrian, Lebanese in her and Scottish Jewish. She's like a walking contradiction. She's cute and she's overweight she calls her self fat sometimes and it makes me mad because I know she's putting herself down. My little brother Jay says your not fat your fluffy. Anyway she's a beautiful soul. She wakes up and I tell her your hair is in an extra mood to day she scrambles too the mirror and says no I look horrible. I say you look like a lioness but one that has a beared you know a main like a lion. She smacks me and I said that's not nice the the chase ensues she runs and I run after her tackling her on the couch tickling her she says stop please. I've been working out for a year now and gained muscle so imagine her surprise when I lift her a little and spin and plop down in a seated position on the couch her on my lap. She's huffing and I can't help it I look at her breasts she seriously has a great rack. She's wearing a tank top and I can see right down at this angle. I hear foot steps so I adjust my eyes and tickle a little more. My dad walks in and says whoah your hair I chuckle she laughs and says yes apparently today is the day to misbehave. My dad looks at me and says what did she do. I say smacked me and ran off. He laughs and says no doubt you deserved it. I said hey you're supose to be on my side. Dad says yeah but I like her better, I fake hurt and we all laugh. Zoe says well the truth is I'm fantastic. I look at her seriously and say yes you are. We talk with my dad about our trip and he tells me we are leaving in the morning so I have to take Zoe home first thing we say ok. The rest of the night we hang out she says her stomach hurts and I ask whats wrong she leaves to the bathroom and I hear no no no not now oh no. I bang on the door and say open the door Zoe she knows I'm serious she says just a minute then comes to the door and looks off. I say spill now what's going on. She says I need a shower clean clothes and tampons. I say oh ok I will go to the store while you're in the shower I'll be quick she says thank you and kisses me. I grab my wallet and the keys. My dad says hey where are you going without Zoe I say she needs some things from the store I'll be right back he says you need money? Nah I got it thanks though. My family has known since I was sixteen that I will buy this stuff for Zoe but only for her I may have a mom and three sisters but that's what my dad's for. I will buy Zoe what she needs but no one else. I get to the store and grab the brand she likes then head directly over to the candy isle I pick out her favorite grocery store dark chocolate and the tea isle and get her raspberry herble tea and there's a tea that's supposed to help with cramps so I get that too and then the midol. She loves herble tea. I get to the register and there's a lady in front and behind me and the cashier is also a girl they see what I'm buying and say aww is it for your sister ? No it's for my girl, I say this because something similar happened before and I tried t explain my bestfriend but it became complicated and there where questions so I learned. Young man the lady says you're going to make a great husband some day. Thank you I say and as it's my turn I see they have flowers there and one is a single beautiful yellow rose and Zoe loves yellow roses they aren't her favorite flower but they are in her top 20 list I smile to myself top 20 because she had too many for a top 10. I grab it and put it down too. I get home and I go straight upstairs my dad saw me walking in and raised a brow at the flower I ignored him. Zoe was still in the bathroom so I knocked I said its just me she says it's unlocked. I walk in she's still in the shower. I set the tampons on the sink counter and say I'm leaving these here and locking the door. She's says ok I'm done and so I leave. When she comes back in the room I grab her and pull her to me she says what blinking those big blue eyes. I say I got other essentials and lead her to the bed side table she says all my favorites I say of course she turns in my arms and I bring the rose up she looks at it then me and says you got this for me. I said yeah and I wanted to cheer you up a bit. She slams her mouth on mine and kisses me hard she says thank you. I kiss her nose and say anything for you. The rest of the day is spent hanging out between my family and just us. Later that night we play a game with the fam and the go to bed. We get up early the next day and I take Zoe home. I kiss her in her room before I start to walk out she says Hudson yeah baby are you going to see Molly while you're there? I walk back over I don't like the worry I see in her eyes. No baby I don't want to see her every again. She nuzzles my neck and says ok. I kiss her again and say I'll see you next week. She says ok. I leave and I don't like the uncomfortable feeling I have. I call Brock on my way out and aske if he can squeeze Zoe in for two extra sessions and he says no problem.
