Inside the restaurant, Mackenzie wished the ground would open and swallow her whole. The clink of cutlery felt like mockery. Even the candlelight guttered, as if laughing at her. Hunter had just walked out on her. She couldn’t believe it. To say that she was frustrated and humiliated would have been an understatement.
