A persistent throb pulsed like a tight band around his entire head. Silently groaning, Hunter raised his glass to his lips, letting the cold liquid slip into his mouth for several seconds before he caught an ice cube between his teeth and lowered the half-empty glass again. Sucking on the cold cube, he let his eyes close for a few precious seconds. He’d decided to stick to cold water with a slice of lime. A decision he questioned with every passing second that the pressure in his head tightened, but Hunter knew he needed a clear head tonight.
