Eliana’s POV
The first thought that came to mind was to flee. But I knew how useless that would be, given that he had already seen me. So I remained where I stood, unsure of what to do next. His eyes were blank at first when they met mine, then recognition slowly flashed in them.
“Eliana,” he said, as if trying to confirm that I was really the one.
“Yes, sir. I was just—” I stopped myself just before I could tell him why I was out there.
