After Jake's departure, I remained in my chair for a long time, mulling over everything that had happened. And despite all the controversies and the inconveniences, I realized that I didn't regret any of it one bit. No matter what had happened or what was going to happen. What I had with Eliana was just about the best thing to happen to me. With her, I felt young and alive again. She made me feel all different kinds of things that I hadn't felt in a long time, not since when Susan and I were way younger. Eliana was like a different spice to my tasteless life that was mind-blowing and addictive. Jake and everyone else could say whatever they wanted, but I was already knee deep in the waters of what I had with her and I wasn't looking for a rescue.
