~ IRIS ~

"A month pregnant"? The words tasted strange as I spoke them.

"But you've only been here for one month."

"That's true, best friend" she sneered, stepping closer.

" Where exactly do you think Neo goes to whenever he tells you he has meetings with the Alphas of other packs" she snapped. "I was the one he was coming to meet at his penthouse?"

I shook my head in disbelief. Telling me this was like striking an arrow to my already wounded chest.

" You have been sleeping with Neo before now?"

"Yes my love. That same night you found out he was your mate. I was the one who called him. And guess what? He screwed me so hard that night that I thought my juice was going to finish. Tasha said, twisting her lips in amusement, clearly enjoying the brokenness in my eyes.

" You know, I actually feel bad for you, Iris," she chuckled dryly.

Neo told me he wouldn't want you to have a pup for him. He isn't ready to have a wolfless pup. She mocked.

" And that is why he made me his Luna as soon as he found out I was carrying his pup."

My heart splintered into pieces. I couldn't believe my ears. Tasha has been sleeping with my mate even before now. You are so cruel Tasha. Very evil and cruel. I said as tears pricked my ears. I wouldn't want to break down before her. She has always known me as the weak person and I wouldn't want that again.

She made a disapproving click. "Oh Iris, don't be so ridiculous." It's not my fault, You are a wolfless being. And if there is any wicked person here, it should be you and your wicked father.

My spirit fractured under the weight of it. " What are you talking about?" A confused expression on my face.

" Don't act like you are dumb?" She cut in, "Your father was the reason for my broken home, for my heartlessness."

"Well, that's aside," she concluded, giving a flippant shrug. " Am bent on destroying you, Iris, and that is what I am doing already." She exclaimed, laughing out so loud like someone who is insane.

Tasha moved back towards the door. " I just came to give you the pregnancy news bestie." See you in hell."

My eyes welled up in tears, but I forced myself to stand tall and meet her gaze without faltering.

" You done huh" ?

She gave me a lopsided smirk like she had expected me to break down, to go on my knees and plead. But I didn't, she snapped, "Yes, bestie, I've said all I want to say, and if you can excuse me, I want to be with my Alpha." His pup wants to be with him."

She turned on her heel and stepped out.

"Get lost Tasha, I hate you for this".... I yelled.

She then turned and made her way towards me. Brushed her palms into her hair, scattering it and then fell and hit the floor. Her long blonde hair splaying around her head and shoulders.

" What are you doing, Tasha?" I said, trying to help her up.

And a look of sheer horror spread across her face.

" Let go of me," she cried out, shoving my hands out of her body.

" You pushed me."

I froze, my hand suspended awkwardly in the air.

" What" ?

Tears shimmered in her eyes, refusing to fall.

She then clutched her wrist as if it were suddenly in pain.

"You saw that, didn't you?" She let out a piercing cry, turning her head towards the doorway. She nudged me!

I followed her gaze, my stomach dropped when I saw Neo accompanied by another strange man standing in the hallway, their eyes wide as they took in the scene. Tasha had timed perfectly.

Neo glared at me. "You don't need to be this wicked Iris." Pushing your own friend all because of a man.

"No," I said quickly, shaking my head. "I didn't touch her Neo. I didn't".

"Then what?" he asked, glaring at me.

"She tripped and fell. It wasn't me" .

Tasha heaved terribly, making a show of trying to stand but then wincing as if she were in deep pain.

"I....I just came to talk," she muttered, her voice filled with pain and emotion. "I didn't think she'd react like this when I told her I was pregnant

Neo frowned." Are you sure it wasn't an accident, Tasha?"

Tasha shook her head, casting me a sideways glance, then with a dramatic sigh. " It's not an accident, Neo. "She wants to kill your pup."

I froze on the spot.

The word kill your pup hit Neo like a big blow. He stepped towards me and gripped my neck with force. "You are lucky she wasn't injured," he muttered. "If not I would have strangled you or probably thrown you into prison."

He left my neck, and turned to Tasha, assessing her with every bit of concern.

" You've always been really hardworking and obedient, Iris, but lately you've become useless and violent. "How could you fight a pregnant woman"?. He yelled at me burning with rage.

My heart beat increased. "That's not true, Neo." I tried to explain, still coughing from the grip he held on my neck. I wouldn't do....

"Shut up"! , his voice cut through me like broken glass and I clenched my jaw, forcing the next words down.

Neo then stepped closer to me. I felt pity for you and was planning to offer you a place to live and serve as our personal maid, but something else came up, and you fit perfectly for it.

A cold wave swept through me. "What are you talking about?"

Neo curled his lips in a devlish grin. "You know the pack is preparing for the war looming soon," he started, and stole a glance at me. " After a few hours of negotiations, it has been determined you now belong to the Moon veil pack.

Their Alpha paid a massive fee for you to be given to him.

At least you have somewhere to stay. And I didn't tell them you are wolfless, so they won't reject you.

" I don't understand! What do you mean? Must it he me"?

" Well I don't know. I didn't ask him that. But since they are stronger than us, refusing their demands wouldn't be good for our pack. They have got more warriors and ammunition to help us fight the war.

"What exactly are you saying Neo? I am your Luna for God's sake.

Are you saying you sold me?" I echoed in disbelief.
