Chapter 2 ~ IRIS ~ My hands trembled as I pulled out my phone, my fingers barely steady as I started to record. I captured everything. Every of their movements from the window pane to the couch, then finally to Tasha's bed. Every thrust, every moan, every whispered endearment that should be mine. That's it, Neo groaned, his face contorting with pleasure as Tasha wrapped her legs around his waist. "Bred me more than you bred your wolfless Luna. Tasha cried out, her nails raking down his back. The words struck me like a punch. I staggered backwards, nearly dropping my phone as my stomach churned. I headed back to my bedroom. I collapsed onto the bed and watched the video again. And again, and again. And I didn't see Neo that night anymore, he never came back. ~ TASHA ~ I ran into Iris in the kitchen. Her eyes were all swollen up from tears from the previous night, I presume. I decided not to drug her last night. So she could see what was going on right under their roof. I thought, smiling to myself. At least it will make her heart shatter into pieces. "Iris, whats wrong"? I asked pretending not to know what happened. "I am fine Tasha". It's just a minor headache. " Minor headache, Iris, and your eyes are swollen?" Come off it, Iris there is more to it, "I said, almost bursting out in laughter. She glared at me. I'm sorry bestie. I said, rolling my eyes as she left. I'm so sorry, Iris, you are suffering from what you don't know. I murdered under my breath. But this was exactly the way my eyes looked those days—very reddish and swollen. I wasn't done with Iris yet. I still have more in store for her. She is still yet to taste my wrath. The game has just began. ~ IRIS ~ I was done preparing for the gala party that night. Neo was going to declare me as his Luna because I was done with my online classes. Every member of the pack was already seated at our arrival. I held Neo's hand, as we made our way to the stage. I was going to separate with Neo tonight and find somewhere else to go. It was going to be a disgraceful separation that is going to take him unawares after he must have announced me Luna. Neo moved up to the stage and welcomed the whole audience. I know you are all here basically for the declaration or my Luna. Neo started taking a glance at me. "It isn't Iris. But here comes the Luna of Frost blood pack, Tasha DeBryne. I looked at his right and saw Tasha taking her steps towards him with a smile all over her face. My jaw dropped at once and my breath came out in short gasps. Tasha moved up and looked at me, our eyes met and she winked. Everyone in the hall clapped like they were all expecting it before now. Tasha came over to where I stood. She glared at me, "I'm so sorry, best friend." It wasn't my fault he chose me over you "You are pathetic and wolfless, you know that, right?" "Aren't you just a special little snowflake?" Everyone at the party laughed like they had always mocked me in my absence. "The Alpha could make a wolfless pup if you remain with him." Someone in the crowd chipped in and the others laughed. A bitter laugh escaped my lips. They didn't all know I was planning to leave already. But still Tasha wouldn't have to betray me this way. I struggled to speak, trying so hard to fight back the tears that had welled up in my eyes. It's okay Tasha. That was all I could mutter. I'm going to pack my things and leave at once. You can have Neo all to yourself. **** My hand quivered as I tugged open the dresser drawer, its wood groaning in protest and I began packing my clothes into my box. I didn't even think much of where I was going to. All I knew was I had to go away from them, from this nightmare as far as possible. My chest felt heavy, like something was sitting on it. The reality of what happened last night slammed into me like a freight train. Neo had chosen my bestfriend to be his Luna in front of the entire pack. He humiliated me and tossed me aside like I meant nothing to him. I couldn't break it. My own best friend replacing me as the Luna. I shut my eyes, my chest tightened as I hugged myself. The pain was unbearable, but I refuse to let it eat me up. I was supposed to separate with Neo without this incident though. I grabbed more clothes without folding them. I squeezed them all into my bag. I would rather become a rouge and live like a nomad, than spend one more second here. A loud knock on my door made me flinch. "Iris...... " I recognized the voice immediately. "It's me Tasha. "Open the door, please," the voice pleaded from outside. "Go away Tasha," I mouthed, my voice hoarse from all the crying I did last night. "Iris, open the door." "No way Tasha, get out." " Come on. Let me in please. Here she is at it again, pleading with so much innocence like she usually does. It's not going to work for me this time around. "You have already got the man Tasha. And I said," I am already getting ready to leave. "What else do you want from me? I struggled to speak, trying so hard to take back the tears already welled up in my eyes. With trembling fingers, I continued to pack my bag when I heard the door knob cracking open. My eyes quick enough to catch Tasha standing in the door frame with the keys in her hands. Of course, Neo had given her the spare keys. Her eyes roamed over me, snorting at my scattered hair, my tear-streaked eyes and my half-packed bags on my bed. She was satisfied from her expression. "Changing the interior won't be a bad idea," she sighed, stepping into the room."I really don't like this decor, best friend,I would change it," she said with a smirk on her face. She still has the nerve to call me best friend after all she did. I watched her with my arms crossed over my chest. Say whatever you want to say and get out now. I don't have time for this. Tasha then turned to face me. She gave me a cocky grin, like she already knew she'd won. " Well, I have some news for you." My eyes narrowed slightly. " What news"? She giggled, placing her hands over her stomach. Soothing it so passionately like she was cradling something. It took me a moment, but it dawned on me suddenly. "I'm two months pregnant with Neo's pup," she exclaimed with a grin. My vision got blurry and I held the dresser behind me to avoid falling to the floor. "Two months pregnant"? The words tasted strange as I spoke them.
