Chapter 4

~ IRIS ~

Neo folded his arms around his chest with satisfactin gleaming in his cold eyes as he watched the terror on my face.

"Leave us". He told the others.

"But Neo," Tasha poutted. "I really don't want to leave you with this crazy woman all by yourself."

" I'll be fine Tasha. Just go okay," Neo hissed.

And just then his beta Austin appeared.

" Austin, take care of her until I am done here and give our guest something to drink."

" Yes Alpha," Austin nodded as he left us alone inside the Luna's quarters.

I was battling with my inner self. I would be a liar if I said Neo's presence didn't affect me. He wasn't the best husband though, but I genuinely loved him.

It wasn't like it'd been years since we last made love.

As a matter of fact, it was only four days ago we were making love on the same carpet we were standing on. I remember how his eyes lit up when he came inside me, whispering sweet nothing in my ear as he rode out on me.

Now he was looking at me like I was his worst enemy.

"What do you mean? "I belong to the Moon veil pack now, Neo."

He grunted. The Moon veil wants someone and I offer you to them. Consider it mercy.

Was I some kind of offering? I wanted to scream at him and curse his name, but I was more focused on the fact that he sold me like I was a piece of land or some second-hand suite he had outgrown.

"Did you hear me?" He sighed. Ronan Vale is now your master.

I swallowed hard. Ronan Vale was more than just an alpha. He was a legend, a nightmare spoken about in hushed whispers.

He was a ruthless, merciless man. A beast among wolves. He wasn't anywhere close to merciful.

Panic clawed at my throat. "You can't do this to me," I finally spoke. "A few days ago you were inside me telling me how much you love me, and today you are admitting to have sold me to another pack."

" I now know all these promises you made to me were nothing."

Neo's expression darkened.

I love Tasha now. And she has my child inside of her. Something I can't allow you to do. You are wolfless Iris. How do you expect me to make a wolfless pup? I can't, Iris and you know that.

I never loved you, even for one day. It was just my wolf Moses who yearned for you. I would have rejected you on the day I found out you were my mate, but Moses insisted I take you.

I shook my head.

" You are a wicked man." I always knew that, but it's obvious to me now. You will regret all your actions, I promise you. You are definitely going to miss me.

He snickered, "Come to think of it." I will miss those sweet lips of yours,"

He hurried over to me. I backed away from him, unt8l I was braced up against the wall. He settled in front of me, using his thumb to part my lips.

"Such a talented mouth," he sucked on his bottom lip. "And these fleshy boobs, I'm going to miss rubbing my c**k in between them," he let out and I had to shift my head to the side to dodge his kiss.

He stepped away from me, "It dosen't matter how hot you are, I can keep you."

It's indeed an honor for pack to have someone like him visit us. So we couldn't devoid him of a common offer after he saw you coming out of the study room.

" Is he here?" I gulped.

Yes, he was here. After he saw you, he came back to my office to ask for your information, so I told him you were my Luna but dosen't want to be with me anymore. So he decided to buy you from me, and he would be of help to us during the war eventually.

" That's unbelievable," I chuckled and continued packing my things. "Well, that's good, but news flash." I'm not going anywhere.

" Like hell you aren't," he gripped my arm. "Iris, you don't have a say in this matter," he snarled. And with finality he said, "If you give me trouble with this, I will take your sick mother and have her hanged to death."

I burst out laughing, but it came out more like a sob," You are bluffing, I can go back to my mother instead."

" Then try me," he challenged.

" So you are going to give me away just like that?" I sneered. I wanted to steer his mind away from my mother. She didn't approve of this marriage anyway and doesn't deserve to die because of me.

Neo shrugged. "It's already been done." The papers are all signed, and the money is now in my account. He left hours ago so he could prepare your quarters or dungeon or cage. Whatever he will keep you in."

I shook my head wildly. "No, this lunatic didn't get to decide this for me."

I looked towards the window, but before I could chuck through, a hand gripped me.

Neo grinned. "I knew you were going to try escaping." That is why I mind linked the guards to come and get you.

You will always be mine and mine alone, Iris.

" But I'm almost not. You left me for my friend Tasha, and now you are selling me off to some cruel Alpha. And we both know what he will do to me once I live here.

"Shut up!" he growled. I don't want to think of it.

Our eyes meet for a second and I could see the regret in his eyes.

"You will pay for this, my love," I said, touching his face, and immediately the guards, along with Tasha and his Beta burst through the door.

"Alpha, I tried to stop her," Austin declared.

Neo quickly stepped backwards.

" Your baby wants you, Neo," Tasha said seductively, leaning on Neo. She glanced at me, then rubbed her stomach with her hand.

The guards held me down, and I kicked at them. Struggling to free myself.

"Neo, please!" Don't do this. "Tasha, please tell him not to let them take me," I pleaded. Tasha twisted her mouth into a mischievous grin.

"Take her". Neo said with his eyes almost closed. And turned his back to avoid looking at me.

"No! Please," I screamed, kicking wildly as the guards dragged me towards the waiting SUV.

The wind was icy against my tear-streaked face as the night swallowed my cries.

I turned my head around while still in their grip, desperate to glance at Neo for the last time for him to change his mind.

But Neo had already turned his back to me with his arm wrapped around Tasha's waist and his lips brushing her temple as if I had never existed.

The car door slammed shut behind me. Sealing my fate.
