Chapter One- Captured
Kate sighed as she placed her sling bag around her neck. Today was a hectic day, just like every other day, but today completely drained her. It was already around 9 PM, and all she wanted to do at the moment was to get home and sleep.
She could not complain even if she wanted to. Complaining hadn't done anything to change her past, and it wouldn't change anything now. This was her life—sad and pathetic—but she had come to accept it. Yet, she had a plan, a simple and straightforward plan: to save enough money to at least attend community college and get a degree. Waitressing would not be what she would be doing for the rest of her life.
