AZRIEN'S POV I woke with fire in my veins. It wasn’t real fire, but it burned all the same. Every muscle felt like it was torn, every bone heavy, and every breath I took felt like glass cutting down my throat. A faint blue glow still lingered across my skin. It was weaker than last night, but it was still there. Always there. A reminder. I didn’t move. I couldn’t. My body felt like stone, pressing into the bed as though the weight of everything I carried had finally caught up with me.
