ELISA’S POV
The guards dragged me roughly down the hallway, the cold iron cuffs biting into my wrists until we stopped by the main corridor. My arms ached from how tightly they had kept me chained, and every step felt heavy. One of the guards finally stepped closer and unlocked the cuffs. The metal fell to the ground with a dull clink, and I slowly rubbed my sore wrists.
“Didn’t think Alpha Alec would actually do it,” one of them sneered, tilting his head as he stared at me. “Turning a female he almost mated into nothing but a pack slave.”
“Yeah, me neither,” the other guard added with a grin that made my stomach twist. “Guess even a witch can be brought down if the Alpha wills it.”
