ELISA'S POV I stood there for a second, gripping the edge of the counter, listening. The kitchen was too quiet. If Azrien had just been here, then he couldn’t be far. I didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I sighed through my nose. “Well, you’d better not be making a scene,” I muttered to myself. With Azrien, a simple misunderstanding could turn into something, since he was still a stranger here. I tried to tell myself to move, to finish the task like nothing had happened.
