CHAPTER 2. (MOM)

I went inside and I didn't see anyone there.

Every where was beautiful, so I look around to find the change in the sitting room.

wow, not quite a change but there is a new television which is more bigger than the first one.

Two New flower vase at the side of the Television. They were beautiful.

And also a beautiful flower vase was on the Dinning table.

I was kind of admiring all what was there, when I heard someone sneeze.

I move to the direction of the kitchen quietly, cause I thought I heard the sneeze sound from there.

Getting closer, I saw Mom.

She was wearing a beautiful floral long gown, and was wearing an apron too.

I thought to my self "Food will go down in my stomach this afternoon so amazingly"

I went inside the kitchen without her noticing me, since her back was facing me.

I then went closer and cover her face with my palm.

Actually am a bit taller than mom, think I picked up her height, since Dad is very tall, but me and Mom are just average height.

She smiled and said; "Julie I know it's you"

I just had to remove my hand from her eyes and hug her from behind.

she held my hands, turned to see me more clearly and gave me a tight hug and kiss on my forehead then she ask;

"Didn't you say, your coming back tomorrow Wednesday?, or did I hear wrongly?"

I just looked at her and smiled.

I then told her, "I love surprise and just wanted to surprise everyone".

she smiled and continued cooking.

she told to go and change up and get ready to eat.

I was super joyful, I wasn't expecting to just come home and see food to eat, especially when I didn't inform that I was coming home today.

Got into my room and noticed the paint was changed to my favorite colour Blue, Orange, Pink, Grey.

wow, I just couldn't imagine how they thought of giving it the design they did.

They painted the room grey, since I kind of like dull paint, and the blue, orange and pink was as dot on the grey paint.

It was beautiful.

I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower.

I came out from the bathroom and slide in a blue jean short and a dull yellow top.

Went to the dinning room and saw Mom in the dinning already.

I just smiled and took my sit.

Felt blessed to have mom in my life.

We prayed and started eating.

After meal and I told Mom, how beautiful everywere was.

And she said, " Don't forget you have been gone for a year", I smiled back at her.

The she said "How was school"

"School was fine, just that I wish I could be a doctor with a Paranormal ability like healing so I could heal everyone that come to my hospital" I replied

She didn't say a word and I continued.

"It's just so sad, seeing people crying and wailing in pains on their sick bed. Mom some died just because of common cold, a slide headache and so on and so forth.

I wish there is a miracle to save Everyone" I breathe out and looked at her then she said;

" Paranormal abilities are in movies, don't tell me you have been watching such movie and wish to have such ability."

"Then if I said, have been watching such movies and I want such power, what would you say." I said quickly.

She looked at me with a smile and said, "None of those things ever happened, they are just someone imagination, just someone thinking pattern, don't bother yourself about it. Cause it would be funny if people hear that your looking for a Paranormal ability when it doesn't even exist"

I felt bad but I looked at her, " Didn't you always taught me that there is nothing impossible for God to do?. Where is the faith momma"

"So you believe God can give you a healing power?" she looked at me

and I replied " Yes, nothing is impossible for him to do.he is a loving father who wants the best for his children"

She looked at me like there was something off about me, or I wasn't her daughter anymore, but she would have known I would change since I was gone for a year.

She then said " Well I want to ask, why are u questing for s supernatural power of healing, is there something wrong somewhere?"

I just have to tell her the truth, so she could help me pray to God for my supernatural power

"well mom" I coughed , she smiled and muted something like sorry and I continued, " Well everyone in school doesn't think I fit to be a doctor.i don't fit in , I fit out."

She looked at me with kind of a panicking look

"Can you explain yourself young lady, cause am lost here, we didn't force you to go to a medical school, you made your choice and we supported you, Do you mean you have failed any of your course?" She said with a worrying look.

I just smiled and said,

" am an average student in my department ma, and do you know sometimes, my course mate even lied to me, that there was no class? and I went to the hostel and slept while the class was going on. I do try making friends with them but I don't seem to be like them. Am not a party type, am not a funny type, am not a social type, am not a gist bringer type neither am I the best student which could have made them want to hang around me. Am not just like them.

I look different, not sexy like them, not classy, not anything like them.

if I have the supernatural power I think they would be my friend"

"if that's all, I would say, you don't have any issue at all.

Questing , praying, wishing, and even crying for a supernatural power just to impress people to become your friend is wrong, if they can't accept you the way you are, then they don't worth being your friend.

Friends are not people who accept you because you have something to offer to their own benefit only and doesn't care about how you feel.

Friends are love ones, people who can't reject you no matter what.

I think those your mate in school would just abandoned you if they find out that your supernatural power is fading.

Just relax and let God will come to pass in your life. And don't forget what I told you about my best friend that makes me not to have any friend anymore."

I just nodded.

I remember the story very well.

Mom was in her secondary school, when her girlfriend tricked her and lock her up in a room and a guy was already inside the room who r***d her without listening to her cry. She rose up and went home told her parents everything who arrested mom friend, but after two weeks, they released her from the station. Thankfully, mom didn't have any STD and no Pregnancy.

Mom vowed never to have a male and female friend again, and her slogan People are dangerous, watch them closely.

I heard mom called my name and I came back to reality.

She then said ; " If you want to have powers, have it for a good reason not for making friends, to me there is no need making friends in this planet. Just pray you meet a man that will understand and love you and would want to spend the rest of his life with you"

I smiled and told her I would pray and look for a good reason for me to have a supernatural power.

She smiled.

I stood up and took the plates to the kitchen, washed them and I went to the backyard, close to the garden was a chair, I sat there and kept thinking over what mom had said.

seriously she is really a true mom, friend and counselor at the same time.

I just kept thinking on what reason to have a healing power.

I then sighted someone come into our compound, it was Daddy.

Daddy is another of my best friend.

I ran to him and he wrap me in a tight hug and said to me, "I miss you but you told us it's tomorrow you were coming back, but I knew you would change it since you love surprising someone."

I replied;

"Do you mean you were expecting me today not tomorrow?"

And he responded " yes."

We want inside the house and he said,

"I told your mom that your coming back today, but she didn't believe and I told her to bet some money, if you come back today I will take my money and her money, but if it's tomorrow, she would talk her money and my own money, but she refused, seems she felt it that you were on your way already".

I just smile and said, " Mom why didn't you tell him that Gambling Is wrong"

She said, " I told him and he kept persisting , so I refused "

Dad laughed and said " Not like your mom would even give me her money if I win her"

we all laugh out loud.
