After dinner I went and saw Louise saying that I wasn’t well and was going to bed, I walked slowly back to my cabin then quickly snuck out the window to meet Abel but Elijah found me first. “Selena come quickly we are running out of time, I know a place that you can hide in for the night.” I was torn between him and Abel but it’s not like I could say anything so I just followed him in silence. As we neared the old stone cottage I could sense Abel close by and as I looked around I saw him quickly move behind a nearby bush. “Thank you Elijah, I can take it from here. Please go back to camp, I will see you in the morning I need to do this alone.” He cupped my cheek and kissed my head. “Stay strong Selena, I will come for you at sunrise. Good luck.” He squeezed my hand then quickly left for camp, once I could no longer hear him Abel stepped out. “He cares a great deal for you Selena.” “And I him, he was the one who stopped the beast that bit me. He was kind when others would have just killed or left me.” He took me down into the basement of the cottage and it was dark, damp and soundproof from the outside world, but the moon was calling out to me. “Take your clothes off, it will make the shift easier to handle. Don’t worry I'm not trying to sleep with you yet, just breathe and try to relax don’t fight the pain bring it into yourself.” I took off my clothes and folded them before sitting on the floor and trying to meditate. I didn’t scream out or yell as the changes happened I just kept repeating the mantra we were taught. “What 3 things can’t be hidden? The sun, the moon, the truth.” over and over I repeated it, willing it to be true and I barely felt the pain, suddenly my wolf ripped free and in my place stood a golden wolf with golden eyes. “Selena, you’re incredible.” Abel said in awe, he reached out to touch me and I let him I just laid down on the ground and was silent. As sunrise was coming Abel took his leave and I waited for Elijah to return, I was completely dressed and already coming down when I saw him. “Selena? How did you go?” “Fine I think, I woke up in there so I didn’t get out which is a good sign. I will lock myself up tonight ok; I think I will bet this Elijah.” I set off on a run back to my cabin, it was still nearly 2 hours before breakfast so I went back to my cabin and grab a change of clothes and my shower bag. I had a steaming hot shower to release all the tension in my body, I still felt like me which I wasn’t expecting but it was nice and I even felt more at peace with myself. I joined the others for breakfast when it was time and I was even looking forward to today’s activities which turned out to be hiking up the mountain. I made up my pack while the others finished their breakfast but just as I was finishing up Louise came out telling me that I had a phone call from my mother. I walk into Lousies office and take the call. “What do you want Jessica?” My mother and I had never gotten along because I preferred to be a “tomboy” as she liked to call it all because I loved the outdoors and enjoyed getting dirty instead of being a normal LA brat and dressing up and going to lavish parties but it just wasn’t me and when I turned 10 I stopped going to all her gala’s and divine dinner parties. I enjoyed touring with my dad or camping or even just sitting close by as he wrote new songs. “Selena must you call me that, I'm still your mother and the only parent you have left. I want you to come home; the will needs to be read out.” Oh so that’s why she was calling, the will couldn’t be read out without me and she wanted to know what he had left her anything. “I don’t care what he left you if he did actually leave you anything, you have enough money Jessica do you really need his as well?” “I'm owed that money; I was married to your father for 15 years!” “And you killed him! MY DAD IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!” I screamed at her, if she hadn’t been fighting my dad in court he wouldn’t have been on the road that night and he wouldn’t have crashed the car.
