The sun shone brightly on me telling me it was morning. My brain agreed but my body hated to disagree. I woke up with a massive headache and body pains. My eyes were heavy so I was unable to open them. It was a time when your mind is awake but your body is sleeping. OMG! I'm having sleep paralysis.
What happened last night? Where was I? At the party or at home? Where are Rukky and Lisa? Are we together? All kinds of thoughts were running in my head.
"Hey, Layla. Wake up. We need to leave." I heard someone's voice which I'm guessing it's Rukky's yelling
I wanted to stand up but I couldn't.
"I'm sorry but I have to do this."
And I woke up. She freaking poured a glass of ice cold water.
"Hey!!!" I yelled. " what happened?"
"Just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Hurry up and pick your shoe. We need to leave. I'll explain everything" Rukky was moving to the door when she said it.
Lisa and I didn't say more and we followed her Lead. We went out through the back door and moved at a quick pace.
As we entered our room, I removed my clothes because they reek of sweat and tied my pink fluffy towel around my chest. I was internally fuming. What has Rukky gotten us into? How did we sleep there? On the floor with many people around us.
I wish I didn't follow her.
I wish I stuck to my decisions.
I wish.
She has to answer this questions today. What kinds of parties does she attend and which kind did we go to yesterday? The police were freaking there. We managed to escape but I heard the siren. She is a freaking dangerous girl.
"Wait for me. I need to clear my head and you will explain to us what happened. You will." I was seething
"Okay. I'll be waiting. But I didn't know it will turn out like this also I wouldn't have taken you." She meekly said.
"It doesn't matter. Does it? We went. So the least you could do is explain what happened last night and which kind of party was that. I don't f*****g remember a thing. Not a single f*****g thing." I emphasized
Lisa was seated on my bed with her head in her hand. She must have got it really hard.
"Lisa, I think you should go and take a shower also"
"Yeah, I think so. I'm also curious of went down in that party"
"Don't worry. Rukky will explain. Right?" I asked Turing to her.
"Yeah."
I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I kept trying to remember what happened last night and I lost track of time. I promise to never adhere to Rukky's pleads of going to a party ever again. I performed ablution and left the bathroom.
When I went back, I saw Rukky sleeping peacefully on her bed.
I finished everything in a jiffy before laying the prayer mat to pray. After I was done, I woke Rukky up to do her business.
I sat down doing my adhkar on the bed while waiting for her. She took her time at it. Lisa came back not long after sending her to rest.
"You guys should not be mad at me. I didn't know also." She huffed
"We are not mad. We just need you to tell us how deep we are in this shit."
"Okay. I found out it was a rave party. Drugs were sold there. The police got an anonymous tip and raided the place. But thank God we left there on time. So now let's pretend nothing happened."
"Let's pretend?! Let's pretend?! We don't even know what happened for Gods sake" I let out a shaky breath
"How will we find out now?" Rukky said looking annoyed
"What did you give me last night?" I asked remembering the faithful memory loss was after that drink.
"I don't know. It was ishaq that gave it to me." She said innocently
"Rukky, look at me. From now on don't even ask me to your parties. Thank you. No thank you." I said sternly looking into her eyes.
"I'm sorry Layla. I'm really sorry."
"It's okay. It's the first and last Insha Allah. Let's pretend it didn't happen."
I almost forgot Lisa was in the room. The hangover is still not ready to leave.
"Goodnight Amigos. Love you more and love you less. The former for my friend laylu and the later for my foe Rukky. Thank you for getting us in and out of trouble."
"Thank you babe. I love you more too." Said Rukky laughing hysterically because of Lisa's humorless joke.
"I love you too Lisu." I grinned.
She left the room and closed the door behind her.
"Small sissy, I'm sorry. I mean it. No matter what happens, I'll always be there for you. Her voice was sincere.
"I know. Big sissy. I hope nothing happens thou."

The churning and turning in my stomach did not allow me to devour my sumptuously delish breakfast made by Aisha. The blueberry marmalade was dripping down the chocolate chip pancakes with a cup of milk. Mummy said its good for the baby and me. I told Aisha about the baby and she was excited. She didnt give that face which is a mix of disgust and judgement. She was happy for me and my baby. I asked her the gnawing question on my mind. the one that bugged me even in my sleep. Did Adam know? she said they never talked about it so she's not sure if uncle ash or Ummi told him. I didnt know why I'm bothered of that he thinks about it but the tingling feeling wont just leave. How i wish i knew why i felt that way.
"Earth to ya layla" Nadiya fixed her eyes on me. she peeked through her glasses and said " You seem to zone out a lot more than sadiya. she is known as the lost girl." teasing quite sadiya really worked because she can also be fierce sadiya"
"Hey! who's lost girl?" they continued their banter till they realised they were becoming really noisy.
This is what a family looks like. They love, they fight and they forgive. My family was like that but not anymore. Maybe one day i will have a family like that.
A simple wish, I hopes one day it will get fulfilled.
