I can't breathe.
“Mackenzie…” Miles warns as he steps closer to me as I begin to feel and hear my own heavy breathing. I glance at both Miles and Nate to see them trying to get close to me in an attempt to comfort me but it only makes me take a step back.
“She was different, and just because no one could understand her, they tried to have her and her people killed, my people!” I shout, completely ignoring both my Mate and Miles as I focus on the moon goddess who is now looking at me with remorse and tears rolling down her glistening cheeks.
“Mackenzie please calm down…” Nate says as he grabs hold of my arm but I am startled by his touch and it causes me to flinch. Nate lets out a sharp hiss as he retracts his hand from me, looking down at it in confusion to see that the skin on his hand
