CHAPTER 2 ~~
An hour before the accident..
"Mum, know about it as well?" Deena asked slowly.
"I didn't know about it until now. I'm also shocked as you are", Deena's mum (Sansan) said calmly.
"Mum, why do you think Dad is doing this? First, he pressured me into getting into the national racing. I came back with an award and yet he's still not satisfied, now he's pressurizing me into joining for the internationals when you all know so well about what happened the last time I tried getting in. All my life I've been trying to please him but why does he keep treating me this way?" Deena said as tears escaped her eyes and her Mum hugged her, patting her hair.
"Your dad wants the best for you dear and that's why he's pushing you so hard. He wants you to be perfect for being his only child. You have no idea how proud he was when you were called out to take your award for coming in first place in the year's car racing competitions. He doesn't show it but he's very proud of you dear. Don't take his actions to heart", Sansan said calmly.
"I can't keep on making him happy all his life and I'm not perfect. I also pushed myself hard when going for those competitions because racing is my passion and I don't want to kill those dreams, but getting married to Finley has nothing to do with my dream, so I'm not accepting that proposal" Deena said seriously, and Sansan broke the hug.
"If that's what you will feel, then stand for your true feelings. I will try talking to your Dad, he can't force you into marriage and Finley isn't that much of a good choice. I'm also against the engagement. Good night my love, we will talk about this tomorrow, but for now have a good night's rest", Sansan said calmly as she peeked at Deena's forehead.
"Good night mum" Deena said with a smile and Sansan switched off the lights before leaving the room.
Sansan went to her husband Mr Gu's study and Deena sneaked out of her room as she walked behind her Mum.
"Darling, what's with the proposal? Why are you pushing our daughter too hard? What's the use of all this if we lose our daughter's love for us" Sansan half yelled, and Mr Gu looked at her.
"I don't care about the love as long as she doesn't bring shame or disgrace to this family. She's my only daughter, so she must do what pleases me and if you're here to convince me about the engagement, then I'm sorry, you met the wrong person. I'm not changing my mind, connection matters when it comes to making fame and getting married to the director's son can get us closer to our dream", he said seriously.
"Darling, why are you sounding so low. You're making it sound like you're desperate for fame and power. Don't tell me you're still upset because of what your dad did to you" Sansan hit his weak point and he glared at her.
Deena eavesdroped on their conversation with a frown.
I'm your daughter, so you can't blame me for being this stubborn either. There's no way I'm ending up with that buffalo. I'm not racing for the internationals either, I'm having it my way this time around. Deena said in her head then ran to her room, picked up her motorbike keys and put a few of her things into a jackbag.
"Sansan, you've crossed the line and I'm hoping this doesn't repeat itself. Why's everyone in this house so freaking annoying?" Mr Gu yelled, then walked out of his study.
------
Deena ran out to the garage car and hopped on her motorbike with her jackbag behind her, putting on her helmet and hand gloves.
"Girly take me wherever you wish to take me" Deena said, caressing the motorbike before she drove off.
Mr Gu's words kept on flashing in Deena's head, making her upset the more. She increased her speed, she drove far away from home and suddenly it started raining. Deena didn't reduce her speed, she increased it even more and she saw a ray of light from a truck.
The truck blew it home as he drove closer, but Deena was lost in her own world. When the truck came closer, the lights on the truck flashed directly on her face. She was shocked to the bone so she took a swift turn to the other road. It was slippery, so she fell down with her motorbike and hit her head on the ground.
Deena, what just happened? Just because I ran away from home doesn't mean it's time for me to die. I can't die yet, there's a lot of things I still want to do. Deena, please stand up. Deena said in her mind as she slowly opened her eyes, but everything was blurry, she couldn't see anything probably.
She managed to remove her leg from under the motorbike. Deena pulled off the helmet and blood roll down her face from her head.
"Somebody help!" Deena screamed, but because of the rain it wasn't audible.
Suddenly, she saw a ray of light from the other lane. She waved at the car with her last strength and she fell to the ground because her legs hurt.
I can't die just yet. Deena uttered in her head and stood u again, she walked slowly to the other lane and luckily the car was waiting for the traffic light to turn Green.
Back to the present..
TRISTAN'S POV
"Deena!" I called out in shock and she managed to grab my sleeve.
"Please help me, don't take me to the hospital" She said almost in a whisper and fainted.
"Deena, you have to open your eyes. What happened to you?"I asked, rubbing her cheeks but no response.
This is quite a disaster. I can't take to the hospital. What if some reporters see her like this. I uttered in my head a bit confused on what to do.
And my eyes landed on the motorbike that was on the ground at the other side.
"First let's go treat her" I said as I carried Deena into my arms, then into my car at the backseat.
"Should I take the motorbike as well?" I questioned, then ran to the other side of the road.
What's this bag for? Was she trying to run away from home? I asked in my head. A truck blew it's horn from afar. I swiftly grabbed Deena's bag and ran to my car.
I threw the bag at the front seat, put on my seatbelt, then I drove off.
I got to my house and carried Deena out of my car. I grabbed her bag as well and went straight into the elevator.
I placed her gently on the couch and quickly took out the first aid kit from the table.
"How did you get yourself hurt like this? You almost placed a mark on this pretty face" I said slowly, wiping off the blood stains on her face.
I applied some ointment to the injured spot before covering it with a plaster.
She must be cold. I muttered in my mind as I ran into my room, grabbed a blanket from the wardrobe.
I placed it on Deena and just then I realized my house was a complete mess.
Oh my goodness Tristan, you've been living in a complete trash bin and you had no idea. I gasped in my head as I packed all the empty packs of junk food on the floor and on the table.
I went into the kitchen and was shocked to the bone for real this time around.
"What!" I screamed and swiftly covered my mouth.
How did a perfect guy like me end up living like this? Tristan, where did your sanity go? I screamed in my head not knowing where to start cleaning from.
HOURS later....
"This must be the reason why I don't clean up. Cleaning up is so exhausting" I exhaled tiredly after cleaning up the whole house.
I removed my gloves and headed to the sitting room. I sat on the other couch and Deena woke up, sitting slowly.
"Em.... Are you okay? Em....em" I stuttered, adjusting myself.
"Who are you?" She asked, trying to get a better glance at me, but my heartbeat began to race.
I almost forgot for a moment that she was Deena, the woman of my dreams. Tristan, you're sitting in the same space with the love of your life. Life can't be more tricky. I uttered in my head with excitement.
"Are you okay? Your face..." She pointed out and I held my face.
My face was burning up.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me", I said politely and she rolled her eyes.
"I wasn't worried in the first place and I asked you a question. Who are you? And what am I doing here?" Deena asked, looking around.
"I'm Tristan Cho and I found you at the roadside. You got into an accident and you said I shouldn't take you to the hospital, so I had to take you home with me. I'm glad you're safe now. I was so worried when I saw you in that state", I said slowly.
"Are you a pervert? What were you thinking when you brought me to your house? Couldn't you at least book a hotel room for me? Do you have any idea who I am", she said coldly and smirked.
Tristan, what were you expecting in the first place? You don't expect her to be all sweet like she used to be on TV.
"I'm definitely not a pervert and I'm quite surprised you don't sound grateful at all. Do you have any idea what consequences I would have to face if I was taken to a hotel? You should be grateful you're fine now", I said calmly.
"Of course, I'm glad I'm safe now, but I don't think I'm still out of danger. Do you know me?" She asked curiously.
Why's she asking me such a question? Of course, I know you.
"Why's that?" I asked, pretending not to know a thing.
"You're not into car racing?" She asked curiously and I smiled inwardly.
"Not at all. Such things don't interest me, but why do you ask?"
"I can't believe this. I really haven't gone far in my career", she mumbled, and I smiled inwardly.
You have no idea how crazy this person here is about you.
"This place doesn't look tidy" She pointed out, and I swallowed hard.
Please let's not go there. It feels like my arms are going to fall off from all the work.
"You look completely fine now. I will call a taxi for you. It has stopped raining, so it's best if you go home now. You can't spend the night at a stranger's house. You should know that right. I saved you from the accident because of humanity, but I don't think I can be able to hold myself back morally", I said with a silly smile, and she covered her chest with her hands.
TBC....
At least she's saved now ?
