Sofia walked into De Luca Holdings the next morning with even more confidence than before.
Ever since news spread about the possibility of a De Luca heir, the attention around her increased again.
Employees immediately greeted her respectfully while some women secretly envied her luxurious life.
“She’s really living every woman’s dream.”
“She’ll soon become the mother of the De Luca heir.”
Sofia smiled proudly as she entered the private elevator leading directly to Adrian’s executive floor.
Without knocking, she pushed open the office doors.
Inside, Adrian sat behind his massive dark desk while Matteo and two elegant female investors discussed business contracts with him.
The office itself looked powerful and intimidating, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Milan and luxury black furniture surrounding the room.
The moment Sofia entered, the two women immediately stood straighter.
Sofia walked directly toward Adrian before standing beside him possessively, lightly leaning against his chair.
Adrian barely reacted.
“Leave us,” he told the others coldly.
The investors and Matteo quietly exited immediately.
Soon only Adrian and Sofia remained inside the office.
Adrian finally looked up at her.
“What is it?”
Instantly, Sofia forced tears into her eyes.
“Adrian…” she whispered shakily before sitting down dramatically. “The doctors said my womb can’t carry a child.”
Fake tears rolled down her cheeks.
“They said I could lose the baby… or even die trying.”
Adrian’s expression remained unreadable.
Sofia carefully watched him, hoping for sympathy.
But Adrian simply stayed calm.
Then she continued softly.
“They suggested another option… a surrogate mother.”
For a moment, silence filled the office.
To Sofia’s surprise—
Adrian nodded almost immediately.
“Fine.”
Her eyes widened slightly.
“That easily?”
“You said you wanted an heir,” Adrian answered coldly. “Find someone suitable.”
Sofia quickly hid her excitement.
She expected arguments.
Questions.
Maybe anger.
Instead, Adrian treated the entire matter like another business arrangement.
Adrian picked up his phone calmly.
“I’ll have my private driver take you home.”
Sofia stood up immediately.
“Thank you, Adrian.”
But Adrian had already returned to his documents, clearly dismissing the conversation completely.
A few minutes later, Sofia sat inside the luxury car smiling secretly to herself.
The moment the driver asked for directions, she spoke immediately.
“To my mother’s house.”
As the car drove through Milan, Sofia’s mind raced with possibilities.
Who could carry the De Luca heir for her?
It had to be someone controllable.
Someone desperate.
Someone who needed money badly enough to obey.
The moment Sofia arrived at Bianca’s mansion, she rushed inside excitedly.
Bianca looked confused.
“Why are you smiling like that?”
Sofia quickly explained everything — Adrian agreeing to surrogacy, the doctor’s report, and the need for another woman to carry the baby.
Bianca listened carefully while thinking deeply.
“But who can we trust?” Sofia asked nervously. “What if the surrogate becomes greedy later?”
Suddenly Bianca became quiet.
Then slowly…
A dangerous smile appeared on her face.
“What about Elena?”
Sofia froze.
Bianca leaned back proudly.
“She needs money desperately for her grandmother’s hospital treatment.”
Sofia’s eyes slowly widened.
And then—
She started smiling too.
Of course.
Elena was perfect.
Desperate.
Poor.
And easy to control.
Bianca confidently grabbed her phone.
“Leave everything to me,” she assured her daughter. “I’ll call her myself.”
Meanwhile Sofia leaned back happily, completely satisfied.
Little did she know…
The decision she just made would eventually destroy the peaceful life she thought she owned with Adrian De Luca.
