Chapter 19. The Secret Inside the Hospital

The next morning, Elena arrived quietly at De Luca Private Hospital.
Everything around her felt cold and unfamiliar.
Luxury white hallways.
Private security.
VIP treatment everywhere.
Yet none of it made her feel important.
Instead, she felt trapped.
A nurse escorted Elena toward one of the private waiting rooms while explaining the surrogacy procedures softly.
“We’ll first run tests to confirm your body can safely carry the pregnancy.”
Elena nodded silently.
Her fingers tightened around her bag nervously.
Meanwhile, inside another private office upstairs, Sofia sat facing the doctor with panic written all over her face.
“What do you mean my eggs are weak?” she asked anxiously.
The doctor sighed.
“The fertilization chances are extremely low, Mrs. De Luca.”
Sofia immediately stood up in frustration.
“No. There has to be another option.”
The doctor hesitated briefly.
“We could try again later but—”
“Use Elena’s egg instead.”
The room instantly became silent.
The doctor looked shocked.
“That violates hospital policy.”
Sofia quickly stepped closer desperately.
“Nobody has to know.”
“No,” the doctor refused immediately. “This can destroy my career.”
Sofia clenched her jaw tightly.
Then suddenly—
She grabbed his collar and kissed him.
The doctor froze instantly.
Because before Adrian De Luca entered Sofia’s life…
He used to be her boyfriend during university years.
But Sofia abandoned him the moment Adrian became richer and more powerful.
The kiss quickly awakened old emotions inside him.
Within seconds, the doctor locked the office door before pulling Sofia closer roughly.
His white coat slipped slightly from his shoulders as he kissed her back passionately.
“You’re dangerous,” he muttered against her lips.
Sofia smirked softly.
“But you still can’t refuse me.”

Elena slowly walked down the hallway searching for the restroom when she suddenly heard soft sounds coming from a nearby office room.
Confused, she paused briefly.
Then she accidentally glanced through the slightly opened door.
Her eyes widened instantly.
Inside, Sofia and the doctor stood extremely close together while kissing passionately near the hospital bed.
Elena immediately stepped back in shock.
Her heart raced uncomfortably.
Without understanding the conversation before it, Elena only assumed Sofia was secretly cheating on Adrian.
But it wasn’t her business.
Quickly, Elena turned around and hurried back toward her assigned ward quietly.
Moments later, a nurse entered her room politely.
“The doctor is ready to begin your tests.”
Elena nodded slowly while following behind nervously.
Completely unaware…
That somewhere else inside the same hospital, Sofia had already changed the entire surrogacy plan behind Adrian’s back.
