Episode 33 The Envelope of Secrets Didi did not open the envelope immediately. Instead, she sat on a bench outside the university administration building, staring at it. Students passed by. Some laughed. Some discussed classes. Others talked excitedly about their future. But Didi barely noticed any of it. Her attention remained fixed on the old envelope resting in her hands. The paper had turned slightly yellow with age. The edges looked worn. It had clearly been hidden for years. A thousand questions ran through her mind. Who exactly was Grace? Why had she waited until now? And what answers could possibly be inside? Finally, unable to resist any longer, she carefully opened it. Inside were several folded papers. A photograph. And a handwritten letter. Her heart pounded. She picked up the photograph first. The image showed a group of people standing together in front of an office building. Among them was her father. Much younger. Standing proudly beside Adrian's father. But there was someone else. A woman. A woman Didi had never seen before. On the back of the photo, someone had written: "The day everything changed." A chill ran through her body. Slowly, she unfolded the letter. The handwriting looked rushed. Almost desperate. The first line immediately caught her attention. "If you are reading this, it means I was unable to expose them." Didi's eyes widened. She continued reading. The letter described suspicious transactions. Secret meetings. Pressure from powerful individuals. Names she did not recognize. Yet one thing became clear very quickly. Her father had not been imagining things. There really had been a conspiracy. And someone had tried to stop him from speaking. The deeper she read, the more shocked she became. By the time she finished, her hands were trembling. This wasn't just about stolen money anymore. It was about corruption. Influence. Power. And people willing to destroy lives to protect themselves. Suddenly, her phone rang. Adrian. She answered immediately. "Didi?" "Adrian." His voice immediately became concerned. "What's wrong?" For a moment, she couldn't speak. Then she whispered, "I think we found something." --- That evening, Adrian arrived at Didi's apartment. Her mother was present. So was Didi's father. The atmosphere felt tense. Serious. Everyone knew this conversation was important. Didi placed the photograph and letter on the table. Then explained everything. Grace. The envelope. The contents. Every detail. When she finished, silence filled the room. Adrian picked up the letter. Carefully read it. Then read it again. His expression darkened. "This is serious." Very serious. Didi's father stared at the papers. His face had gone pale. "I remember this." Everyone looked at him. "What do you mean?" The older man swallowed. "This letter was written by a colleague." Silence. "A colleague who disappeared." The room instantly became quiet. Even Adrian looked shocked. "Disappeared?" His father nodded. "One day he was there." The man's voice shook. "The next day he was gone." Nobody knew what to say. Because suddenly the story felt much darker. Much more dangerous. Didi slowly sat down. The weight of everything was becoming overwhelming. For years she believed the past was simply a tragic misunderstanding. Now she was learning that people might have been intentionally silenced. And if that was true... What else had been hidden? --- Meanwhile, Vanessa sat in her office reviewing financial reports. Her mood was terrible. Every day seemed to bring more problems. More complications. More bad news. Her phone suddenly vibrated. The investigator. She answered immediately. "What now?" The man's voice sounded uneasy. "We have another development." Vanessa frowned. "What happened?" "The woman made contact." Immediately she stood. "What woman?" "Grace." Silence. Then Vanessa's expression changed completely. For the first time in weeks, genuine fear appeared in her eyes. "Are you sure?" "Yes." The investigator paused. "She met Didi." Vanessa's grip tightened around the phone. This was bad. Very bad. Because Grace knew things. Things that should never become public. --- The call ended. Vanessa walked toward the window. The city lights stretched endlessly before her. For years she had believed the past was buried. Now it was beginning to surface. And if Grace started talking... Everything could collapse. Not just for her family. For many others as well. Slowly, she closed her eyes. Then made a decision. She needed to find Grace before anyone else did. No matter what it took. --- Episode 34 The Missing Witness The following morning, Didi woke up feeling exhausted. She had barely slept. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the letter. The photograph. The names. The warnings. It felt as though her entire life was changing overnight. Her mother entered the room carrying breakfast. "You should eat." Didi smiled weakly. "I'm not hungry." Mama placed the tray down anyway. "You need strength." The older woman sat beside her. Then gently touched her shoulder. "Whatever happens, we will face it together." Those words comforted Didi more than she expected. For years, her mother had been her greatest source of strength. And even now, that hadn't changed. --- Later that day, Adrian arranged a meeting. Present were: Adrian Didi Adrian's father Didi's father Everyone gathered inside a private office at the hospital. The letter rested on the table. The atmosphere was serious. Adrian's father adjusted his glasses. Then looked at Didi's father. "Do you recognize every name listed here?" The older man nodded slowly. "Most of them." Silence followed. Then Adrian asked, "Can any of them confirm what happened?" Didi's father hesitated. Finally, he answered. "Maybe one." Immediately everyone became alert. "Who?" The older man took a deep breath. "A woman named Grace." The room became silent. Because Grace had already appeared. Which meant she wasn't a random stranger. Not at all. She was connected directly to the case. And possibly the key to everything. --- That same afternoon, Didi received a call from Grace. The woman sounded nervous. Very nervous. "We need to meet." "What happened?" "Not over the phone." Didi's stomach tightened. "When?" "Today." The line disconnected. Immediately Didi informed Adrian. Within minutes, both were heading toward the meeting location. Neither liked how urgent Grace sounded. Neither liked how frightened she seemed. Something was wrong. Very wrong. --- The meeting point was a small café on the edge of the city. When Didi and Adrian arrived, they looked around carefully. But Grace wasn't there. They waited. Ten minutes. Twenty minutes. Thirty minutes. Nothing. No Grace. No call. No message. Nothing. Didi checked her phone again. Still nothing. A terrible feeling began growing inside her chest. "Something's wrong." Adrian nodded. He felt it too. Then Didi's phone suddenly vibrated. A text message. Unknown number. Her hands trembled as she opened it. The message contained only six words: "Stop searching before someone gets hurt." Didi froze. Adrian immediately noticed. "What is it?" Without speaking, she handed him the phone. His expression darkened instantly. The threat was clear. Someone didn't want them investigating. Someone was watching. And judging by Grace's disappearance... They were willing to act. --- Hours later, police confirmed something disturbing. Grace had not returned home. Nobody had seen her. Nobody could reach her. It was as if she had vanished. Completely. The news shocked everyone. Especially Didi. Because Grace had promised answers. And now she was gone. --- That night, Didi sat alone in her room. The silence felt unbearable. Her mind replayed every recent event. The message. The letter. Grace's disappearance. The threats. Everything. Then she noticed something. Something she had overlooked earlier. The photograph from the envelope. She picked it up. Looked closer. Then froze. There, standing in the background, partially hidden behind the group... Was a face she recognized. A face she had seen recently. Very recently. Her eyes widened. "No..." Immediately she grabbed her phone. And called Adrian. He answered on the first ring. "Didi?" Her voice trembled. "I found something." "What?" She stared at the photograph. Unable to believe what she was seeing. Then whispered: "The person in this picture..." "...is connected to Vanessa." Silence. Complete silence. Because if Didi was right... Then Vanessa's family wasn't just involved. They had been involved from the very beginning. End of Episodes 33 & 34.
