Chapter Fifty-Three: Training and Protecting

1045 Words
The morning light filtered softly through the windows, illuminating Asia as she stretched lightly on the floor. Even in her weakened state, her blue eyes burned with determination. Today was her first attempt at training since discovering she was carrying Jack’s child, and despite her exhaustion, she refused to be idle. Jack hovered beside her, his gaze sharp and unwavering. “…Asia… we take this slow. Very slow. Don’t overdo it,” he warned, placing a protective hand on her shoulder. “…I won’t forgive myself if you push too hard.” Asia rolled her eyes, trying to hide a small smile. “…I know, I know… I’m not going to fight the world today. Just some light training.” Kael leaned casually against the doorway, smirking. “…Light training, huh? You say that now… wait until she decides to throw me across the room.” He gave Jack a pointed look. “…You really want to risk that, tough guy?” Jack shot him a glare that could have frozen water. “…Kael… shut it. Right now, your job is to stay out of trouble.” Luna Mara entered with a tray of lightly cooked food. “…Eat first, my wolf. You’ll need energy. Even light training requires strength.” She placed it gently beside Asia, who nodded and took a few bites. Jack stood close, watching every movement, ready to assist at a moment’s notice. Alpha Kade stepped into the room, arms crossed, his presence both protective and authoritative. “…Remember, Asia, even the strongest wolves must respect their limits. You are not alone. Jack, ensure she doesn’t push herself past her boundaries.” Asia swallowed, feeling both cared for and constrained. “…I understand… but I’m not a fragile human, Dad. I’m still a wolf.” Jack leaned down, pressing a kiss to her temple. “…You are my wolf… but my pregnant wolf right now. That changes things.” His eyes flickered with a mix of love, concern, and intensity. “…I will not let you endanger yourself—or our child. Do you hear me?” Asia chuckled softly, shaking her head. “…Yes, Jack. I hear you.” Kael muttered under his breath, “…Pregnant wolf training. Somehow this sounds like the plot to a weird soap opera…” The session began gently. Jack guided her through controlled movements, ensuring each step, each motion, was safe. Asia felt her strength returning gradually, her wolf energy pulsing faintly, though she had to stop frequently to rest. Jack never left her side, holding her when dizziness hit, offering support with quiet, steady hands. “Careful,” Jack warned softly during one sequence. “…Don’t push yourself too hard, Asia. One false step and—” “…I won’t fall,” she interrupted, gritting her teeth. “…I can do this.” Jack exhaled, a mixture of relief and frustration. “…You always have to argue with me, don’t you?” Kael, peeking from the doorway, smirked. “…That’s why we love her… she’s stubborn enough to survive anything.” As the morning progressed, Luna Mara and Alpha Kade observed from the side, noting every movement, every effort. Alpha Kade’s brow furrowed with worry. “…She’s pushing herself too hard. Jack, intervene if necessary.” Jack’s hands hovered near her at all times, ready to steady her, and his voice softened. “…Easy… breathe… don’t overexert… you are stronger than this day, but today we respect limits. You are carrying our child… our future…” Asia’s cheeks warmed at his words, her heart swelling with both affection and determination. “…I… I won’t let you down. I’ll train safely… but I’ll still get stronger.” Even Kael couldn’t resist adding some levity. “…Training for a pregnant wolf, supervised by a protective wolf boyfriend and a sarcastic wolf uncle. I swear, I’ve seen enough chaos in one room to last a lifetime.” Jack shot him a warning glance, but Asia laughed softly, easing the tension. “…Kael… you’re ridiculous… but I like it.” By the afternoon, Asia was exhausted but smiling, her blue eyes bright despite her fatigue. Jack stayed close, brushing hair from her forehead, holding her hand, and murmuring constant encouragement. Luna Mara guided her through rest periods, food, and hydration, while Alpha Kade made plans for long-term protection and strategy against the hunter. “…She is vulnerable now,” he said gravely. “…But we must prepare. Every wolf must be ready to defend her and the child.” Kael, leaning back with arms crossed, muttered, “…And I get to provide comic relief in the meantime. Lovely.” As the day wound down, Asia collapsed onto the couch, exhausted but alive. Jack pressed his forehead to hers, whispering softly, “…You did beautifully, my wolf… my fire… my future… I am so proud of you.” Asia smiled weakly, closing her eyes. “…I couldn’t do it without you… and them.” She gestured faintly toward her parents and Kael. “…I’m not alone… ever.” Jack’s blue eyes glistened with emotion. “…And I’ll always be here, for both of you. Always.” Luna Mara gently brushed Asia’s hair, smiling softly. “…You are more than a survivor, my wolf. You are the future of our pack… and now, a mother. We will protect you, guide you, and love you every step of the way.” Alpha Kade’s hand rested lightly on her shoulder, eyes filled with both pride and concern. “…This is only the beginning, Asia. But you have the strength, the heart, and the pack to face it all. Nothing will break you.” Kael muttered under his breath, “…And I’ll still make sarcastic comments along the way. Someone has to keep things entertaining.” Asia laughed softly, a sound that felt fragile yet powerful. “…I think we’re going to survive… together.” Jack pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. “…Together… always, my wolf.” And for the first time in days, Asia felt a faint peace settle over her—fragile, yet resolute. She knew that training, love, family, and the strength of her wolf blood would carry her forward, no matter what dangers the future held.
