Lou had almost been asleep when her compass snagged, seizing her attention. She breathed in, exploring the emotion trembling through the connection. Not fear. Not anger or danger. It was something like desire, though free from the hot, s****l tension that sometimes ran through her when Konstantine longed for her. And she was with Konstantine now. He slept beside her, his eyes closed, dark lashes resting on his cheeks. She let the darkness overtake her, melting her from his bed to a parked car on the other side of the world.
