Landon's POV
The pain was overwhelming; it felt like everything in my body was clawing at my chest, trying to escape; my heart felt like it was being ripped in two as I tried to fill my lungs with little success. If we had been marked, this indeed would have been too much for me, and I would have died with her. How people survived even worse pain than this seemed inconceivable.
"What's wrong with Quinn!" Evelyn asked, shaking my face in her hands. "Tell us what's happening!"
"She's gone...." I gasped. "Dying....."
