Kiss of Life is dedicated to the memory of Enid Ann Porter, 1914 – 2004, who was my staunchest ally during her life, and whose faith in my abilities never wavered. Her memory will never leave me. Also to Juliet, who is my fiercest critic and most able supporter, and without whose patience and understanding of the many hours I spend alone at my computer, writing and researching, none of my work would be possible.
