Chapter 12

144 Words

byShe can seduce all creatures of the night —the wolf, the crow, the owl, the snake— bend starlight and moonbeams to her will, Empress of the Dark Domain. With a gentle sigh of breeze, flowery meadows and stands of trees dance and sway and murmur songs of adoration in her wake. She sails in at twilight of the waning day, is fond of play in fallow fields, all nature to her would surely yield should she ask, though she rarely may. Sprites and fairies lend their hand, rendering aid with magical dust and sand sprinkled into eyes to effect the spell of slumber, each delivered unto her bewitched land. At the warning light of dawn, she gathers her robes of shadow and form, the revels of the night now all but done, she fades into the dark vault opposite the sun.
