I stared back at the king, but he was still fixed on his food, whereas the queen… her sharp gaze was still looming in my direction.
I quickly looked away, feeling a huge hard lump in my throat. "Leah," I whispered again, but my wolf didn't answer.
The girl dished out food for Ryder and smiled as she moved the plate of food toward him. And I was left with no food.
There were a lot of different kinds of food on the table; everyone was digging in and eating, but I just couldn't bring myself to stand up and start serving myself in the midst of these people.
And the worst part, my stomach was screaming for me to feed it.
Fuck it.
I was still lost in thought when Ryder pushed the plate of food between us on the table and turned toward me.
