CHAPTER 4

532 Words
Sofia and Alessandro settled into their new life in a small town on the coast, far away from the violence and danger of the mafia world they had left behind. They rented a small cottage overlooking the ocean, and Alessandro got a job at a local restaurant as a chef. It was a far cry from his former life as a mafia boss, but he was happy to have a new start and to be able to live a normal life with Sofia. Sofia, meanwhile, found work as a waitress at the same restaurant. She enjoyed the simple life they had created for themselves and relished the time they spent together, just the two of them. They took long walks along the beach, watched movies together, and cooked meals together in their cozy kitchen. Despite their happiness, however, they both knew that they couldn't escape their past completely. There were moments when they would see a suspicious-looking person or hear a loud noise and they would both freeze, their hearts racing with fear. They knew that they would always have to be cautious, even in their new life. One day, while Sofia was working her shift at the restaurant, she noticed a man sitting at a table in the corner. Something about him made her uneasy, and she couldn't shake the feeling that he was watching her. She mentioned it to Alessandro when she got home, and he immediately grew tense. He knew that they had to be careful and that they couldn't take any chances. Over the next few days, they both kept a low profile, avoiding going out in public and staying close to home. But they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. Late one night, they heard a noise outside their cottage and Alessandro sprang into action, grabbing a knife and checking the locks on the doors and windows. They didn't see anyone outside, but they knew that they couldn't stay in their home anymore. Alessandro made arrangements for them to stay at a hotel in a different town, and they left in the middle of the night, not wanting to take any chances. As they drove to their new destination, Sofia couldn't help but feel a sense of despair. They had left their old life behind, but it seemed that they would never be able to fully escape it. She worried that they would always be looking over their shoulders, always living in fear. Alessandro, on the other hand, remained calm and focused. He knew that they couldn't give up, that they had to keep moving forward and finding new ways to stay safe. He promised Sofia that he would do whatever it took to keep her safe, and she knew that she could trust him. They arrived at the hotel and settled into their room, exhausted from the stress and fear of the past few days. Alessandro held Sofia close, reassuring her that everything would be okay. They knew that they still had a long road ahead of them, but they were determined to face whatever challenges came their way together, knowing that their love was stronger than anything that could come against them.
