Birthday (Updated)

"Emma! Wake up" my brother Nate said shaking my whole body. I swear to the Moon Goddess, I'm not a morning person, and I hate it when people wake me up before I wake up by myself.

"Well that's a good way to wake people up," I said with a hint of sarcasm

Forgive me but I stayed up late last night, plus he's an annoying brother. Do you think anyone would have a good mood when someone annoying woke you up? no? Yup me too. He gave me a toothy grin, showing his perfectly white teeth

"what?"

"what? what?" my brother says still with his annoying grin "why are you grinning like an i***t? It's weird" I asked, My brothers are naturally weird, I think they hit their heads too hard when they were just pups

"Duh, because it’s your birthday!" he said excitedly.

how my brothers act while they're with me is really funny. two buff guys who are six feet tall, acting like a three-year-old.

"Happy Birthday to you" My other brother John suddenly barged into my room singing in a very high pitched voice

this is quite a view for the ladies (mark the sarcasm)

"What the hell are you doing?"

This is the thing that I hate most on my birthdays. It puts me in a very awkward situation, like, what do I have to do? clap?

"For Goddess sake, please don’t." I pleaded

they didn't budge

"Don't you two think that I’m too old for a birthday song?" I asked again, hoping for them to stop now.

"Nah uh, we will sing you a birthday song until you grow older than us" John answered

Wait... what?? Grow older than my older brothers?

"But that will never happen," I said feeling annoyed

I can't think of a day that my brothers did not annoy or bother me. I swear to the moon Goddess that my brothers just can't go on with their lives without teasing me.

"Uh? That's the point, Sis. We'll sing you happy birthday for the rest of our lives" Nate responded

See?? I just can't wait until these two find their mate and annoy them instead of annoying me. "By the way, are you ready to meet your mate?"

wait? What mate? Today is THE DAY? Holy -- I don't think I’m ready

"Today is the day we meet mate" Ella, my wolf says

"Yes, Ella, but I’m not so sure if I'm ready to meet him" I answered her

WHAT IF IT’S A HER? Oh my goddess. I once heard that there was a woman here in our pack that mated with another woman.

"of course you are ready, and it doesn't matter if our mate is a he or she." she says before shutting me out

"Earth to Emma" Nate says waving so close to my face

See they annoy me.

"Oh sorry, I was talking to Ella. What were you saying?"

"I asked, who do you think your mate is?" He asked, his curiosity is showing off obviously. "I don’t know, never thought of it before" I answered

"Any guess?" John asked

"Uhh. Maybe, just someone here in our pack. What do you think? I hope it’s not an old guy, though" I mean, I wouldn't mind if my mate is not from around here. That would be fine for me.

This just means that I'll have more time until I meet the one

"Are you not even excited about meeting your mate?" Am I? Nope.

Well... Maybe a little. I just don't know how to react when I finally meet my mate. I might make a fool of myself. I need to at least prepare for it, that wolf is someone who I am supposed to live with for the rest of my life.

Whoa living with someone for the rest of my life scares me. I think I’m too young to be with someone, I can't even imagine myself making love with someone, ew.

"Maybe a bit, I’m nervous"

"Damn. Well then, if you're not ready for this... I hope you are ready for the party" they told me before leaving my room

"what party?!" I tried to ask but I’m too late my brothers had already left my room

Are they talking about a birthday party? Please no.

I went to the bathroom to do my morning routine I washed my face and applied a little bit of beauty products, but I don't really need it. I mean wolves don't have to worry about skin-related things.

The last thing I did was brush my teeth. Do vampires brush their teeth?

I went to my mother's room planning to ask about the said party.

"Mother? Please tell me that it’s just a simple party. Dinner with our family perhaps?"

"Of course not. What are you talking about? You only turn 16 once-- and you might get to meet your mate today, so everything should be perfect"

"Mom. Please no. I don't even want to have a party. Please. And please stop talking about my future mate. I'm sure I won’t meet him here. How about we just have a simple family dinner or a simple party for our family's dearest friends"

"No. Emma and this discussion is over"

I raised my hand in defeat while carefully exiting my mother's room, as I exit her room I went straight to the pack's garden and just look at the flowers.

The flowers are so pretty. They never fail to calm me down. But I don't know why the garden has a variety of flowers but no butterflies?

Well. Maybe they just don't like the flowers but butterflies should like flowers.

Weird.

I walked around the pack house and watched the little pups playing

I went and play with them for a while. I wish I can always just be a kid. No worries, no problems, and happy

But instead of that, I'll probably have my own kids considering that I'll probably meet my mate soon.

Well, I'll be f****d.

I walk back to my room to rest for a bit. Maybe I need to go and buy a dress for later?

If everyone's right about me meeting my mate. I do think that I should look presentable.
