She had a terrible dream. Carmen was in it, and it took place in the apartment they shared. There was total darkness in her roommate’s room. Only a few flickering candles which stood in the corner provided some light. The creepy dance of the shadows occupied the wall. Lili walked carefully on the rough carpet, and could only take a look at Carmen by going all the way round the bed. However, the girl was kneeling on the floor in front of the window with her back aimed towards Lili, and was fiddling with something that her body covered up. Lili’s heartbeat increased.
