“What turns you on?” murmured Lengyel, staring at his laptop.
The incident that happened back at the station didn’t set him off the case. His conscience and his respect towards the dead girls encouraged him to reveal the truth. It’s true though that Laura fired him, however she somehow had forgotten about the fact that a guest expert has to the colonel only, and not to the person leading the investigation. Since he’s never been a huge fan of arguing, he thought it was better to fake surrendering and leave the woman on her own. If he had stayed, then their conversation would’ve ended up in an inert fight for sure, mostly because Laura (even though she didn’t’ say anything she made it obvious with her allusions) had brought up his past.
