Part 3 Trust

I was in my room when Chief came. ‘Baby, do you want to go in the beach.’ ‘Sure, Chief.’ me. ‘Okay, go prepare your things and we will go at 1 pm.’ Chief. I went to my closet and prepare my things. I look at the clock and it’s twelve thirty noon. I finish packing when Lay came in my room. ‘Baby, are you done?’ ‘Yes, I’m done packing my things.’ me. He came near me and carry the bag and we move out to my room. I just follow him until he stopped in his room and he get his bag. We continue to walk until we saw chief down stair. I smile at him and we all start to laugh.

It took as one hour to travel before we reach the beach. It was so beautiful the sun shine like no tomorrow. I tried get my camera and take some picture. I was taking a picture when someone block the view. ‘Yah, move away your blocking the view.’ Me. ‘Yah?’ Lay. When he did not move, I move backward and take a picture of him. ‘Happy?’ me. He smiles at me and said, ‘Give me the camera I take a picture of you with dad.’ I give him my camera and stand next to chief. I smile and he take a picture. Chief carry me and Lay take another picture of us. This will be a memory for me. Chief put me down and Lay said, ‘dad can you take a picture of us?’ ‘Sure, son.’ Chief replied. He gives the camera and he came to my side and kneel down to be at a same level with me. He carries me and we take another picture. He put me down and he move to the car to get the things that we brought. Chief gave me the camera and he help his son on holding the bags that we have. I just follow them to the room that we will stay. I was taking a picture when Chief called me. ‘Baby, come here and change.’ ‘Okay, coming.’ Me. I run to the room and change. I wear a white shirt and a black short. When I move out to the room, I saw a hand some guys. It was chief and lay, yes, it’s just today that they look handsome. Ladies are looking at them too. ‘Bro, that lady is looking at you give her a wink.’ Me. Lay look at me like hey kid shut up. I just laugh at him. We walk in to the sea shore and play with the sea water. It is so refreshing. I take a picture when I think it is so nice in the eyes. The sun set is so beautiful and it makes me smile like no tomorrow. I called Lay and Chief, ‘Chief Sir can you come here let’s take a picture.’ They came and I give the camera to the lady who is standing next to us to take a picture of us. Chief and Lay holds my hands and the camera click. I said thank you to the lady for taking a picture of us. ‘Sir, I think the lady is familiar.’ Me. ‘Where?’ Sir. ‘The lady that is looking at you earlier.’ Me. ‘Where did you see her?’ Sir. ‘I saw her in the mall, and she has the same eyes looking at us.’ Me. He turn around and look back at the lady but the lady looked away. ‘Is that her, with the blond hair and black bikini?’ Sir asking. ‘Yes, that lady.’ Me. ‘Just don’t mind her enjoy your day baby.’ Sir. ‘okay.’ Me. I look back to see the Lady but she is no longer there. So, I just ignore it and move to the castle sand. The castle sand was built by Chief and its pretty look good. I take a picture of him making the castle and he is enjoying it like a young boy. I give the camera to Lay and join Chief on making the castle. ‘When I was young like you, my mom and dad brought me here and this castle reminds me of them.’ Chief. I just listen to what he is saying, stories for me is a memory like a wind. ‘I also brought my son here with his mom, and making castle sand is the best way to have a memory when coming to beach.’ Chief. ‘Exactly.’ Me. ‘Did your dad Bring you here?’ Chief. ‘Yes, chief but, Not here.’ Me. ‘Your father is really a good man.’ Chief said. I want to cry but I have to keep all myself, I don’t wand to be a burden to them. I just smile to him and keep on building the castle. ‘Finish that and we will eat.’ Lay said. It took us thirty minutes to finish the castle sand. Lay took a picture of us in the castle sand and we move to the food area. The view is so relaxing. Lay order the food and we just wait in the area. ‘This place is so good.’ Me. Chief smiled at me and said, ‘This is my present to your birthday.’ ‘What, my birthday is on coming Tuesday.’ Me. ‘Yes, and this is the first present for you baby.’ Chief. I stand on my seat and hug him. ‘Thank you for being like a father to me.’ I said. ‘The food is here.’ Lay. We eat the food and laugh together. When I saw a familiar body figure on the other table. I want to see his face but his back is on us that is why I can’t figure out who he is. He put his left hand on the side table and it was so familiar with the ring he is wearing that was the same with my father. But I think I’m thinking too much. ‘Chief I think I’m sleepy can we go home now.’ Me. All of the sudden I said it. My mind is full of my parents, I just walk in the other table and I was wrong it was not dad. But he looked at me when I looked at him. I just smile bitter I’m disappointed my dad really leave me. It’s been a month but I’m still hoping that this is a dream, but it hurts me a lot knowing that it is reality. While we are in the car I’m still thinking of the man and the lady on the beach. ‘Are you not happy?’ Chief asked. ‘I’m happy that I saw new things and people.’ me. chief smile at me. I did not notice that I sleep on the car.

I hope you did not notice something baby, this is for your own good. Chief mind. This is Chief, I am in charge of Yanni Byun Park safety. I and her parents got a threat that is why we came to a plan on killing them. But I did not know that What happen on the shop was so terrible for this girl to see his parents dying. I hope you will not hate me on what happen to your parents when time will come baby. You are like my daughter and you are my best partner’s daughter and I will be responsible on. I know it will be hard for you but I hope you will be strong.

It took us an hour to be at home and our baby is silently sleeping. My son carried her to her room. I’m sorry son that I have to keep things for you when time will come please don’t hate me. I carried the bags and close the car. The day has ended with a smile in my face. I move to my room and open the cabinet next to my bed. A tear rolls on my face.

I tried to put Yanni in her bed by not waking her. I slept next to her until I fallen sleep. I wake up when I heard her cry, I hug her to stop her on her nightmare and it turns to be alright. She stopped crying and sleep again. I look at the clock and it was two in the morning, I kissed Yanni’s forehead and leave her room. I was about to open my room when I heard someone is talking down stair. I move slowly and I heard dad talking o the phone and it is like they are having an argument. I return on my room and lay on my bed. I fall asleep when I closed my eyes.

I wake up in the morning and I was in my bed. I think they did not wake me when we arrived last night. I went to comfort room to brush my teeth and walk down in the kitchen. Lay is on the kitchen cooking for our breakfast, ‘Good morning Sir.’ I greet. ‘Good morning too baby, just seat and wait for the food okay?’ ‘Okay.’ I answered. It did not take long when he finished cooking our breakfast. ‘Good morning’ Chief Greeted us when he came. ‘Like wise.’ me. He seated and wait until lay finished all the foods before we eat. ‘Thankyou Lord For the food, Amen.’

I went back to my room to prepare my things its Monday today and we are having our test and I have to be early. I and Lay are early in the school but I just told him that I will be going to my room to look at my notes. He said yes so, I walk to my classroom and take out my books to read the parts that are included in the test. I have thirty minutes to look over on my books before the test starts. Ten minutes before Xam came in the room. she smiles at me and give me some yogurt, ’have a drink’. I take the yogurt and drink it. ‘Thankyou.’ Me.

Crrrrrrriiiiingggggggg……….. the bell. And it is time for the test. Our teacher came in. ‘Good morning Kids, did you review your book?’ ‘Yes madam’ we replied. ‘okay, bring out your pencils and eraser so that you can start on your test.’ Teacher. We bring out our pencils and erasers to start the test.

It was easy that I take the test for thirty minutes and Xam also finished earlier than me. she is smarter than me. I Move out on the class and I saw Xam on the corridor waiting for me. ‘How was it?’ me. ‘Easy.’Xam. ‘Le’ts go to food court I need to eat something before the next test start.’ Me. We hurry to the food court to eat. And Lay was there ordering his food, I went to him and said, ‘Hai sir, what did you order?’ He turned around and look at us, ‘Hey, kiddos want some?’ ‘Sure’ we answered. He ordered two milk tea and burgers for us. We went to the empty table and wait for it to be done. It did not take long when he came. ‘Here’s your food kiddos.’ Sir. ‘Thankyou sir.’ Me and Xam. ‘How is your test?’ Sir asked. ‘It’s not that hard to seat for an hour.’ Me. ‘Yeah right, I think the next test will be a little hard.’ Xam answered. ‘The subject was so hard for me either.’ I replied. ‘why?’ Sir asked. ‘It’s your subject sir.’ Xam answered. ‘Ahahaha, Yeah true.’ I added.

‘Oh really?’ sir. ‘Yeah.’ I replied. I looked at my watch and it is already for the Math test. ‘I think we need to go back Xam the test will start sooner.’ ‘Sure.’ Xam replied. ‘Bye sir, see you later.’ And we go back to our room. Five minutes before the test and Sir came holding the test questions. ‘Good morning Kids.’ Sir Greetings. ‘Good morning too Sir.’ All of as. ‘Okay, I hope you study your lessons to be easier for you to answer the test.’ Sir. He distributed the test and I released a rough sigh. This is to hard for me to answer, I study my lesson but math is dangerous. I tried to remember what I studied and some of it was in my mind and it was nice to see my test paper with answers. But, ‘Sir, excuse me.’ ‘Yes, Yanni.’ Sir. As he walked towards me. ‘The answer is not in the choices.’ And I pointed the number six. He leans down and looked at the paper and said ‘No, the answer is there.’ I tried to solved again but I can’t fine the correct answer. I just leave the number as I put my answer in the space. I answered the rest and I used the whole hour for me to finished the Math test. Xam finished the test early as expected. I submit my test paper and sir smile as he saw that I did not choose any answer on the choice. ‘’Sir, the answer is right so don’t smile.’ I said. He looked at me and said, ‘The answer is D your answer is not right.’ ‘Tsss, as long as I have answered.’ ‘haha, Xam got the answer.’ ‘She is Intelligent not like me.’ I answered. ‘No, you’re just stubborn.’ He replied. I just look at him and leave. I saw xam seating in her chair. ‘Xam, what is your answer in number six?’ I asked. ‘The answer is eighteen and not in the choices so I just wrote it down.’ She answered. ‘My answer is eighteen too, but why sir said that is not right?’ I asked again. ‘His is just teasing you for sure.’ Xam answered. I look back but sir is no longer in his seat. Be ready in the house Mr. Huang Lay. We finished all the test in the morning and lunch time. Four subjects are done and for the evening we have four also.

We went to food court to have our lunch. I ordered and Xam did the same. We wait for our order to come as we seat in the empty seat. It did not take long when the order came. We pray for our food as we start to eat. ‘Yanni, your birthday will be tomorrow right?’ Xam asked. ‘Yes.’ I answered. ‘I’ll tell mom and dad so that we can come at your house.’ Xam. ‘Sure.’ Me. we finished our meal and we went back to our room, there is no reason to stay here I’m full so I need to seat comfortably. I put my pack bag in my chair and seat. ‘Xam, have you ever had a crush?’ I asked out of nowhere. ‘I have when we are in grade Four until now.’ Xam answered. ‘Ah, yeah I remember it now, you whisper to me while our teacher is explaining in the board.’ I replied. ‘Yeah, right I don’t know why I have a crush on him he always bullied me that time but I got in to the trap.’ Xam. ‘Did he transfer why I don’t see him anymore in our campus?’ Me. ‘I don’t know where he is now but mom told me that he saw him in hospital.’ Xam. ‘Is he sick?’ I asked. ‘I don’t know, I hope his not sick.’ Xam. ‘Do you want to see him again?’ I asked. ‘Yes, of course I want to asked something to him.’ Xam answered. ‘Xam, when we are going to secondary where will you study?’ ‘I want to follow you I don’t want to see you alone.’ She replied. ‘Oh, so are will still going to continue here or we are going to Dream Fuentes High school?’ I asked. ‘I want to try in Dream Fuentes High School, but I don’t think I can be comfortable there.’ Xam answered. ‘Yeah right, I thought of that too.’ Me. We continue talking until our teacher came for our next test. The teacher distribute the test paper and we answered it until the last subject. I went to teacher’s office when I finished my last test to see Lay. I knock on the door before I open it. I was about to talk when I saw lay talking to someone in the phone, so I waited until he finished talking. ‘Are we going home now?’ I asked. He looks at me and said, ‘Seat there and wait for me, I will just finish checking the last test paper.’ ‘Okay.’ I went to the waiting area and wait for him and it take him ten minutes before he finished it. ‘Yanni, let’s go.’ Lay. I stand up and walk with him until we reach the car. I seat next to him and put my seatbelt. ‘You said that the answer for number six is D, but Xam’s answer is eighteen and we have the same answer.’ I said. ‘I know, I just said that.’ He replied. ‘So, How’s my Score?’ I asked. ‘Not bad.’ He replied. ‘Sir, can we visit mom and dad tomorrow?’ I asked. ‘You miss them?’ He questioned back. ‘Yes, this is the first time that they will not be in my birthday.’ I answered. ‘Sure.’ He said. ‘Also, I think Xam and her parents will come tomorrow in the house, is it okay?’ I added. ‘Sure, that will be happier if they will come.’ He replied. ‘Thank you very much Sir.’ ‘You’re always welcome baby.’ He replied. I smile at him as a thank you for being good to me all the time that I needed him. I look at the window to look at the good scenery. He opened the window and that makes me smile and the wind is playing on my hair. It was so refreshing, and it makes me feel happy. The window was opened until we reach home. I move out to the car and went to my room to change my uniform to black shirt and pajamas. After I changed, I went down stair to have eat ice cream. When I was about to get my ice cream someone grab it and it was Lay. ‘We need to share I want to eat too and this is the last one.’ He said before I got angry. ‘Fine.’ I answered. And we eat the ice cream together.
