Raven-haired beauty Veronica isn't speaking to me again. I am so over this childish behavior. Sadly, her immaturity is the one thing in my life that I have always relied upon.
As we sit silently across from each other, her iciness doesn't affect the temperature of our warm beverages. After last night's tryst with Rainy by my side, I need sustenance. I am shaking from within.
Looking over my newspaper at Veronica, I feel a slight resentment at her constant presence at our table.
Sometimes, I wish she would just go away, and now is one of those moments. After being with Rainy, spending time with Veronica just doesn't feel right. Perhaps it never did.
Perhaps the stark contrast between them is what I needed to fully realize this.
