Chapter 33: Drunken Cowboys

1191 Words

Rainy's POV Cass walks up to me during the dinner rush. She looks sweaty and unhappy. She's got a round serving tray folded under her arm. This is the first time I have seen her look so overworked. I know she needs more help and is afraid to call staff and offer extra shifts, so I text Bron. Rainy: Hey, can you come down and help out? It's really busy and your manager is afraid to ask her staff for help. Bron: Of course! I'll be right there. Anything to spend extra moments with you. I smile inside and out. Bron really does have my back. It's not just a bunch of words. I am really beginning to trust him again after the dinner incident. And I still do not know who sabotaged my painting. It gives me a deep pang of anxiety in my solar plexus whenever I think about seeing Veronica again.
