9. Desert Rain

It was the kind of desert night they always put in movies, sweltering heat, an obscene amount of humidity, and a storm building in the distance. Lightning rolled over clouds providing only hints of light, otherwise, it was as dark as pitch. Jenny checked the GPS location on her phone. She was at the coordinates on the invitation, and on time. She still didn’t know who had sent the invitation. Only that it was something she wasn’t certain she was willing to pass up. So she drove for a few hours and parked.
