Chapter Seventeen
I tap my pencil against the page, trying to pull my attention to the report I'm working on and not just ignoring it in favour of pacing again. I've lost too much of my work time to worrying, and I need more of it later to make the potion for the paper Daphne and I need.
A knock sounds a the door, louder than normal. All the kittens begin to mewl, each of them demanding attention from the person on the other side.
My heart skips a beat, the hope that it's Caspian on the other side. He text me in the early hours of the morning with the promise that he'd come to see me after he'd slept.
