I watched as Aria played with Ensley as they sat by the pond in the front yard of our new home.
We had settled in nicely here and it honestly felt like home instantly. The neighbors had all brought over welcome gifts and invited us to the monthly village pig roast tonight.
Every full moon they sacrificed a pig to the goddess and roasted it beneath the hot sand amongst rocks as hot as lava. The pig cooled slowly from the inside out over the next few days. We would feast on it tonight.
