Tanner swung open the door, only to find the room pitch-dark—Yvonne wasn't home at all.
He headed downstairs to ask a servant, "Where's Yvonne?"
The servant looked utterly confused. "Isn't she at the hospital? She hasn't come back since she left for the hospital that night."
Tanner was struck dumb with shock.
The hospital said Yvonne had checked out ages ago, but the servant swore she'd never returned. Where had she been all these days?
Tanner pulled out his phone and called her right away.
A cold, automated voice came from the other end. "The number you dialed is not in service..."
She'd even deactivated her phone number.
Tanner thought for a moment, then dialed Zeke instead. "Find out where Yvonne is."
He pocketed the phone and hadn't taken two steps when it rang again.
