Chapter 15

Lucus

I reach the house which has her smell at the peak. I can see that Arthur is there at the door waiting for me. He must have known his alpha's son was close enough. He brought me the clothes because somehow he knew I would be there in my wolf form.

" I know you would come, kid, but not this fast. " he sounds surprised.

" I would die for her." I bare my soul to him.

" f**k. She is your mate. " He swears once again. " Is this the reason why Ashley is acting in such a way? What the hell is going on Lucus? Vanessa hasn't even got her wolf and this mess of a mate. And did you reject my daughter? " his voice sounds dangerous as he utters the last sentence.

" I will answer all that later. And what the hell are you talking about . I didn't reject her. Why would I Arthur? What the hell? I would never do that to her. She is everything to me Arthur. " I couldn't keep my anger when he accused me of something I didn't do. I am hurt.

" Before you piss me off. Take me to her. I feel it. She needs me. " I don't even wait for him as I enter the house uninvited.

I see Vanessa's aunt and uncle in one side of bed and Maria on the other side clutching her hand. Her aunt looks the same. She looks frightened.

" Will you all give a minute with her? " I ask them. Maria seems hesitant to leave.

But it is Arthur who asks her to leave.

" Our little butterfly is all grown up Maria. She needs to fly. We can't protect her all we can do now is just support her. Let the boy sit with her. He is the only one who can help her. " Arthur looks at Maria and clutches his hands with her. He moves to take her out with him.

I take Vanessa hand. She seems to take my scent in. She looks calm at once. She was sleeping no doubt. But I could see some wrinkles in her forehead as if she was in pain but after I take her hands the wrinkle in her forehead smooths out. She huffs a breath of relief and clutches my hand towards her chest. She is still asleep when she does that.

" What happened? " I ask them before they could leave.

" I don't know son. But apparently you rejected the bond. Which you deny doing so. And I swear to God kid this all be a big misunderstanding before I kick your ass. " He threatens me.

" I don't understand what you are saying. " I reply.

" I know son. You both can visit the old lady tomorrow and ask here. I will explain about the old lady too tomorrow. Now you both need rest. I have always trusted you with her Lucus so I am letting you sleep here. But she is my seventeen years daugther. The door stays opens. " he orders.

I am the alpha's son. Bigger than him on the post but right now my experiences makes him my boss.

" Yes sir. " I reply as I alwyas have when he gives me an order.

" And You finally got your wolf. I am so happy for you kid. " His eyes shines with pride. He is the beta of my pack. The pack which is mine take in future maybe that's the reason he could fee my wolf as I knew my parents were waiting for me to confirm it.

He leaves and close the door behind showing me his trust. I take the hair out of her face and place it behind her ears.

She seems more relax as I caress her.

So I hug her to me. I kiss her forehead.

" You are such a i***t. If you needed me all you had to do was call me. I am so f*****g sorry for what I said. I was just angry. I said I will never need you and I was out but how could you have believed it. How could I even survive without you. " I kiss her cheeks.

I wanted to kiss her lips. But I want to do that only when she is awake. Our first official kiss. We have kissed but it was childish. Now I want to kiss her mine.

So I pull her to my chest and put my chin on her head as I pull her as close to me as I can. Before I know it, the sleep pulls me in.

VANESSA:

I wake up with the feeling of contentment. I feel an arm around my waist. I feel a chest on my back.

I close my eyes and look for the bond. The golden thick rope of a bond is shining . It is glowing. It wants to bond with lucus but I am not sure about how it actually works. It remains open at one end. Right now it isn't twisting which was all I need to know.

Then I turn in his arm. I look at his beautiful face. His face was always so rugged and manly.

My man. The thought just pops in my mind.

Right now it was smoothened with sleep. He looks peaceful that brings smile to my face. I have always admired his face. Right now he looks like he is everything I have always wanted.

I am scared not gonna lie. I am scared shitless on how to be a mate. I was, I am his best friend first. I really hope this mate thing won't destroy what we have.

I use my index finger and touch his nose. I couldn't help it. I should have known the sneaky one is awake.

He grabs my hand and lays a kiss in the centre of my hand. His eyes are closed but I still couldn't hide the blush that sweeps on my cheeks.

You both are going to be so much more and this i***t was worrying about how this mate thing would destroy the bond.

The creepy voice comments. I would love for it to stop now because Lucus was here.

" Good morning butterfly. " His raspy voice at the morning was all I needed to feel aroused.

I have never had this physical reaction towards him. He sniffs the air and I all but about die.

I am such an i***t. He could smell it but I couldn't stop being physically attracted to him. I blame it on this mate bond.

But thank God he doesn't make any comments.

Then he opens his eyes. He pins me with it.

" Now before we begin to the new chapter of our lives tell me. Tell me. Who am I to you? " his voice so rough. He have never felt more musculine. His five o'clock shade in his chin that needs shaving. His body all so strong. I feel so overwhelmed.

This is what I have always carved for this. Him being with me. I wanted this just didn't let myself feel the need for him . I had no right at that time. Now he feels like mine. My eyes fills with unshed tears.

He someone grabs the one tear in his finger and tastes it.

" Even these taste like mine. " His voice was really commanding. An alpha's voice. My heart turn in puddle of joo at the movement.

" Tell me. Tell me so I can kiss those lips mine. f**k finally. Let me finally have you. Let my wolf be with it's mate. Just give us what we what. " He asks no that wasn't asking he demanded it.

" Mate." The tears that were left unshed starts to flow like a river. He takes her into her arm. " You are my mate. "

I have never felt like this. I feel like a woman in the arms of the man she has always loved and admired. Now I finally feel like his. I want to feel everything with him. I want to have him in the depths of my pores.

His jaw rubbed against my temple. His bread bristles me.

"Was it this hard to admit that you were mine? I needed to use my alpha voice on Ashely to make her confess how she made you promise her to leave. And you just left like I didn't matter. " His voice still holds some grudge.

I look in those beautiful eyes.

" I never wanted to leave. I was scared of Luke. I am scared of this bond, which feels like it will leave me only when it will consume all of me. I needed time to adjust. I would have stayed in the pack and accepted it but I also wanted to salvage my bond with Ashley. She is my sister. " I tell him with all my honesty.

" She is but I am your mate. And I get to be f*****g selfish. You didn't choose me." He sounds really hurt.

" What is there to choose Luke? You were mine. Inside my heart. Inside my brain. Deep down to my bones. Always have and always will. I didn't choose you because I didn't have to. You were always mine. I did take you for granted, which bites me in the ass. " I thought showing sass in the last sentence so as to lighten the mood.

But instead my words sparked a flame in both of us. A flame that demanded to be fed.

That's what happened. At one moment, I was facing him. Next, I was flat on the bed. His chest was lying on my chest. I can feel all of him. I feel like I can combust out of my body at any moment. His muscular body over mine gives me gooseflesh . I couldn't stop the moan from leaving my chest.

He breath kisses my face first. He slowly lowers his face towards mine. He kisses me then, softly pecks my lips at first. My whole body burning at one simple touch of our lips. I pull him to me. I guide my hands into his silky hair. I kiss him hard because I don't have control whatsoever in my body . Then there was no holding back.

He licks my lips. I moan once again, giving him an opportunity to guide his tongue inside my mouth. He tastes like the moonlight that feels on the skin. The taste of first rain. He tastes like my favorite dose of candy.

He just kisses me untill he takes my breath away. He pulls away, putting his forehead on mine. This moment feels so magical, so wholesome.

The knock of the door was all it took for me to fly away from him onto the floor.
